It talks about how when trials ("rain") happen in our life we ask God to stop the rain, but He is telling us that he can't stop the rain: (also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. - romans 5:3-4) but he will "hold us till it goes away", he will comfort us and love us and guide us through our sufferings. because "rain must fall on everyone", if there was no darkness how could we see the light. "No one loves you like I do" - God's love for us is so amazing we can't even comprehend the kind of love that doesn't present itself in taking away our sufferings. He loves us so much that He wants the very best for us and wants us to become closer to Him, so He painfully allows us to suffer, so that we can be even nearer to Him in the end. |

I also think it refers to when churches lose themselves and concentrate more on what the church looks like, then the One who is supposed to be the center of the church. "when love becomes a delicate display" The church's love for Christ turns into effort to make the church itself look beautiful or appear perfect, by fancy, expensive displays or rules made up by men. "As we deny that love is still the king Not as weak as we make him out to be" By concentrating more on man made rules, we are denying that Christ is the King, because we are adding to the bible, thinking that it needs more to it. They make it seem like God's rules aren't good enough. They make Him out to be weaker than He is. i agree too, but i'm going to add a little more: it also touches a lot on how your trying to make yourself happy and thinking you can do more than you actually can. "you can't attract, the things that you lack": Christ, because "You are trying in vain": you think you can save yourself, get yourself out of this mess. then "you spiral down, you've broken your crown, you don't feel like a queen": eventually, trying to save yourself and thinking of yourself more than you are fails. Your break your crown and fall off the pedestool that you put yourself on by thinking you don't need Christ. also when it says "you kneel in the dark...", it's not just dark as in night, but you kneel in the darkness and shadow of your own life without Christ, the light. you kneel in the dark...ready to accept the light!!! that's it. |

| i think it's about someone who does not have enough faith in Jesus and doubts him. He has to see to believe. Doubting thomas is someone in the bible who wouldn't believe Jesus is Lord, until he actually felt is scars. "crucify and deny pass the blame..." talks about how this person has sinned and sent jesus to the cross, but denies it and won't admit he is sinful, because he doesn't believe Jesus died for our sins. The main point is that you have faith in who Jesus is or you will fail in seeking the truth. | |
