P.O.D. – Abortion Is Murder Lyrics 19 years ago
abortion is good because stuff dies. go dying. but hey these lyrics are really brilliant when you think about it. they're just mocking the normal bullshit arguments that anti-abortioners make, as a way to mock them. or at least i hope thats it. can a band with a record contract really get away with this shit? if only their parents had considered abortion a little bit more.

Longwave – Tidal Wave Lyrics 21 years ago
I saw the lead singer dude (sorry can't think of his name) play an acoustic set at criminal records last week and this song really effected me in a way it hadn't on the album version. This and "Everywhere You Turn" really sounded incredible acoustic, but then again, they sound incredible anyway...

The Smashing Pumpkins – 1979 Lyrics 21 years ago
Teenage angst yes, but not in the sense that that phrase has come to mean. It's more like an idealized version ya know? It's like, you have kids who identified with "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and wanted a revolution of sorts and the kids who identified with "1979" and knew they couldn't change much so just did what they wanted in like a carefree way...I dunno...

Pink Floyd – Lost for Words Lyrics 21 years ago
i was wondering, in the division bell booklet, the lyrics have the phrase "Right One" capitalized, i know there is some signifigance here, i was just wondering if anyone knew why they felt they needed to have R & O in capital letters.

Collective Soul – Smashing Young Man Lyrics 22 years ago
i heard it was about Billy Corgan... billy corgan once at a pumpkins concert was complaining about how the intro to "Shine" sounds to him like it ripped off the one in "drown". i believe his rant went something like, colelctive soul sucks, sollective soul sucks, they stole my fuckin song, collective soul sucks...i dunno though...this was supposedly his retaliation to sir corgan.

The Smashing Pumpkins – To Forgive Lyrics 22 years ago
this is a really depressing song when you think about it.
i think its like renzoku said, a wasted life. but i think hes saying that there was nothing he could of done to better his life "i knew my loss before i even learned to talk"
when he was a baby he saw how the world worked, and he gave up...just so much depth to this song. its awesome

Dave Matthews Band – Big Eyed Fish (Busted Stuff version) Lyrics 22 years ago

Pink Floyd – The Thin Ice Lyrics 22 years ago
It's always neat when Roger and Dave sing on the same song. They did it to perfection on the wall album, and this one in particular. With Dave supplying the soft beginning part and Roger coming in with his voice soudns like knives on the more bitter part.

Pink Floyd – Shine On You Crazy Diamond (Parts VI - IX) Lyrics 22 years ago
i know im probally alone in saying, but i like parts VI - X more than parts I-V. I really really like the "Pile on many more layers and I'll be joining you there." part. its like roger saying that he knows the band isnt gonna be around forever and when its through him, and the rest of the band will see Syd again. the next part it talking about what they'll do when they get there. love it

Pink Floyd – Mother Lyrics 22 years ago
as for the last line, "Mother did it need to be so high".
this is, i think, pink looking back and realizing that the wall is so damn high that theres no way out, so hes asking his mom why it had to be like that. maybe.

Pink Floyd – A Great Day for Freedom Lyrics 22 years ago
This whole album is so much more than what people think. Instead of just 4 or 5 songs about the band, I think that's what every song on this album is about. This song inparticularly is, i think, about after The Wall album, and the success that came with it. "The Ship of Fools That Runs aground" is the band and everyone associated with them that never matched the success of the wall.
