I gotta stand up and vouch for Johnny. I mean, the guy's a living legend, for God's sake. It's been said that he doesn't get the depth of this song and that Hurt doesn't work with country music, but remember, Johnny Cash has always been the man in black. And his music has never been all that happy-go-lucky either. So yeah, he's country, but that has crap to do with depth. If you think country songs can't be deep, you need to listen to some Songs Ohia and see how much deeper country can be than Trent Reznor. At any rate, Cash deserves some respect, or at least he deserves a chance.
