Lucinda Williams – Can't Let Go Lyrics

The meaning is pretty obvious - this man has left her and she can't keep going back to him - but this song is aweosme. Great instrumental and lyrics. |

Yonder Mountain String Band – Half Moon Rising Lyrics

This reminds me of my summer in Montana. There was one night in particular that I think of when I had about 30 miles to go to get back to where I was staying and my gas light came on. I was nervous about getting stuck in the middle of nowhere, but then I saw the northern lights - which were the most amazing thing I have ever seen. You could say they "brought me back on home." Cheesy, i know, but what a great summer. |

The Smashing Pumpkins – Annie-Dog Lyrics

I defintiely think that this song is about Annie being a prostitute and about being drawn into her game ("is it wrong to be swallowed whole, do disappear in her). I also think that this part is about abortion:
she holds the blood
she carves the knives
she digs the wives in our babies
The end of the song is about how she wishes that her life were different (she wants clean sheets and fresh flowers) but she is also a drug addict so she is stuck. I think that hong kong glue might refer to opium or something. Who knows? This song is haunting but has always caught my attention. I like it. |

Modest Mouse – 3rd Planet Lyrics

Ok so taken as a whole, I think that this song is comparing the creation of the earth to the creation of a baby. The circular shape of the universe is like the circular shape of the mother's womb. It's like the entire universe is inside our bodies.
Pretty profound, huh? |

Alright so Jack Johnson rules and this is a great song...we all know that. Pable Joe Jingy, your screen name is awesome....hooray for Bob Schneider fans. And by the way, I am from Austin, TX and I have been to both the East and West coast and they are each cool in their own ways...so everyone chill out! |

All-Time Quarterback – Why I Cry Lyrics

This song is something only Ben could pull off. I'm not sure if he uses a xylophone or a miniature piano like I had as a kid, because it sounds a lot like my piano. |
