Whether it's about drugs or love or loss, the words,the melody send a heart wrenching reminder to us all about the pain of coping with impossible pain. Let's hope the other side brings sweet relief. | Spot on interpreting this as heroine use song. I was touched by the reference to hearing your voice through a photograph,and it brought back memories of a man I loved who died. Still the first interpretation I read here makes sense of everything written in the lyrics...not just a line or two.we all can relate, now and then, to words written by someone else. I was lonely and heartbroken , my heart adrift I was paralyzed with bitterness then out of the blue,at my lowest.
