i also agree with acrobatictenement, what are they trying to do selling the lyrics/ meanings behind them . that's not very characteristical of them. Desptie the fact that i read an interview about them signing with a distribution deal to a bigger label and the question of selling out, they resonded by mentioning that they will be in total control of all artistic and developmental aspects of their music and it was only for distribution, as well as the fact that they didn't see a problem making some money while doing something they love. I applauded their response because so many people throw that term around selling out and a lot of times it can apply but one must be cautious when using it. Cedric seemed to have that in respect but now that he is selling the lyrics to his album and the TMV story?? Sounds pretty shady to me |

i could also see this being about life on the road and how cedric could feel his band slowly drifting apart, some of them moving to more commercial aspects of the music industry. Like when he says, "you speak in tongues, tremors that warn us of ourselves." speaks as to the impending doom that he might have already sensed and moreover, "nothing bleeds the same
my travel expenses paid " this could speak as to with a more commercial or corporate label they dont feel like they're doing things for themselves like when their van broke down that one time they all bled but if some van they were given broke down it wouldn't be the same. or

the eery and profound cello which starts out the song really sets the tone for the rest of it. the unique sound really epitomizes the attitude for this song which describes the feeling so accurately of being out of place or confused. Even when there are people all around you, you sometimes feel like one brick in 'social wall' and that if your brick were gone no one would have any idea about it. very awesome song, really emotional |
