i think that this song is about suicide.About how those depressed hide the pain (put on makeup,hide scars)then the people are angry at Their loved one saying Why'd You put the keys up on the table..You wanted to.-in Their anger saying it Was selfish and the persons only reason Was they wanted to.(like leaving the keys on the table.thats the last thing a person does when moving out of a house.it representative the person making his final preperations before suicide)and the end of the song is the person asking god why he Was given more than he could bear.I love this song because it Can really be took apart and examined and so many interpretations Can be made. |

@[ROCKER094:18296] your interpertation of this song is spot on but going deeper into "whyd You put the keys up on the table" verse.when You go to move out of a house the last thing You do is leave the keys on the table.i think this verse is a comparison of the person making his last preperations before he takes his life. |

This song is basically about the circle of life.when a soul leaves one is brought to a new life.maggies explanation makes no sense... -The old mother is a woman who has lived her life,raised her children and passes away from old age.the new mother is depicted in the first and third verse.The angel is interpreted as a guardian angel to some but I think that's reaching.i think the Angel is the old mother(closing her eyes for the last time and then child opening theirs for the first because the 3rd verse discribes seeing the circle of a blue colored iris that represents the circle of life.hope this clears some things up |
