If the boyfriend is being faithful to her - the LEAST she can do is respect that. This shows the character Katy portrays to be one thing - a disrespectful, unloving, hypergamous faithless slag.

Could "plum" also be slang for the magenta paper stock used in the ticket vending machines? Then again, this being pre-Travelcard, the validity could have easily been shown as being for the Hammersmith and City or Met line (based on looking at Wiki entries for Tube line colours)

London Underground lines often shut down at around 0130-0200, not 2330. Especially in Zone 1.
So it was legitimately at 0000, as the pubs would have chucked out at 2330 (2345 to allow for 15 minutes drinking up time).
