Neil Diamond – Shilo Lyrics

The song is about the woman that he regards in the same manner as his imaginary childhood friend. While captured by their ability to make us smile, we begin to trust. The loneliness, dreams and crazy fantasies, are shared and understood. They have separate lives, and they understand. But whenever he calls her name, she will always be there.
The imaginary childhood friend is of the opposite sex. |

Jet – Look What You've Done Lyrics

A wised-up one is calling the "Other" out.
The "Other" is exposed, many are deceived.
The neediness and indecisiveness exhausted the
true self, now the relationship is over. |

Audioslave – I Am the Highway Lyrics

This song is powerful!
This soul has endured what "they" can not even fathom.
He feels no loss for leaving.
His value is not realized. Without the highway, would the wheels roll?
Without the sky, would the carpet ride? Without the night, would we see the autumn moon?
When friends align with the liars, he can't move far enough away.
By the grace of his higher power, he realizes his worth, and the value he added to their lives. |

You have this song confused with Sweet Emotion. He wrote this song before Elissa Jarret came into the picture and mucked things up. |

I did not favor this song at first, but now I do. Steven is a man of many women, but there was only one (I believe) that really got to him ... Teresa. She challenged him and never put up with his crap like all the others so willingly do. It made him crazy for her. |

Imagine my disappointment when Steven's first wife revealed in her book that "his" was only 7". Shame on her! But when I listen to the song, I imagine it is "10" and it goes along much better that way :) |

I will raise you 3 cents and call it a nickle. Steven admitted to "dabbling", but it was just not for him. "Say your a ladie's man" ... is being said to him. |

Aerosmith – Seasons Of Wither Lyrics

I have loved this song forever! It's personal meaning to me has changed many times throughout the years. Always begins with Steven on a cold Boston morning, very deep in thought and reaching from the depths of his soul ....
But, it has been thought this song was written about his relationship with Diana. She was 14 and I believe he was 28. Her parents gave him legal guardianship of her, then he took her on the road with his rock band. She is the "Blues hearted lady", "love for the devil" was her love for him. Regardless of the intensity of their relationship, he knew and was told that it had to end. He was not what she needed and his love for her was holding him back from his career. Very sad. |
