Johnny Nash – I Can See Clearly Now Lyrics

Wow, I believe the majority of songs ever created include some type of denotation of something either postitive or negative. Depression is a major branch of the ones who encompass pain. Although, the meaning is obvious, I think this song really goes a long way in expressing the spirit of picking one's self up. Everyone goes through trials and tribulations in their life. But it's important to remember that although tomorrow is never promised, if it comes, it's a whole new chance to live again. |

The Fray – How To Save A Life Lyrics

I've listened to this song a zillion times and it's just one that I never tire of. It's message is powerful but how it makes you feel after listening, is unparalleled. I don't think there is quite another song whose exit affects me in a way like this does. |

I feel the lyrics of this song break down a relationship of the two people involved. This isn't a one time instance and virtually a revelation of the narrator's closure between them. I think the heart and soul of this song, is that no one can save another person. This is something both people have to come to terms with and hopefully the one in need, helps themself. |

I am in love with this song and I have to say. This is one of the most insightful, clairvoyant and incredible interpretations that I have came across. I never even thought of it that way but it makes perfect sense. Thank you |

Christina Perri – A Thousand Years Lyrics

"And all along I believed I would find you", over time she convinced herself the real him would come alive through his heart. But the "I have loved you for a thousand years, I'll love you for a thousand more" speaks that even though he couldn't she always will. |

Christina Perri – A Thousand Years Lyrics

This song is sang from and about two people. The verses are from the man's perspective and the chorus is the woman. The idea is that the woman has selflessly and patiently waited for what seems like forever, for the man to gain the strength and realize he deserves her love. And once that happens, he can begin to actively love her back. As time continues to pass, he slowly but surely reassures her that he's finally coming around. He knows her love is true and that no one could ever love him like she does. Sadly, nothing changes over time. However, one sort of grand metamorphose takes place; in that she will always love him but has accepted that he couldn't find the courage to love her back. Really. We can gather that her words in the song are providing her unconditional love for him that will never die. She knows he needs this, even more than herself. Painful but true. |

Bush – Glycerine Lyrics

To piggyback on this, after thinking, it is about an abortion and the regret the parents feel after the decision. Sometimes the video correlates to the song and sometimes not. But it does show a woman holding an infants feet or hands in the beginning of the video. I think glycerine is a word that describes the emotions of the situation. Because it fuels everything. It facilitated the choice and it shows the pain and consequences of it. Such an emotional song and some of the best lyrics ever written in my opinion. |

I think evolve would be a more fitting term. People are always changing but staying the exact same if that makes sense. Some people lack the ability, aptitude, strength or whatever it is that prevents them from evolution. Because while we evolve were moving in a direction that will eveutally come full circle as we progress through life. Hopefully, once complete we'll be at the end of oru journey and destination:) |

Placebo – Protect Me From What I Want Lyrics

Some of your opinion seems to be very broad and narrow minded in my opinion. Of course you're entitled to yours but consider this. I'm not sure if you're speaking from personal experience but if so you're far from alone. And that is not true that noone would choose to be with someone with HIV or Aids. Also, that's why in the vows of holy marriage it states through sickness and and health. If a person loves someone it wouldn't matter if they had any kind of disease. And HIV is not a death or life sentence anymore but it's all in a person's attitude and perception and the way they choose to see and live with it. It's very manageable and if treated in the early stages, a person can live a relatively normal life and life span. Lastly, if practiced safely and by the choice of the non infected partner, sex is still an option. |

This song has to be one of the top 10 of all time in my opinion. I won't give my personal interpretation, because it's moving and you can't helped but be touched by it. The guitar riffs, melody, lyrics and everything. A true classic that is just appreciated and cherished. I get lost. |

Bon Iver – Skinny Love Lyrics

This is a far stretch but possible. I think the narrator could of walked in right after the attempt and skinny realized he/she made a terrible mistake and the narr says, "Staring at the sink of blood." They might be saying, "Come on skinny love just last the year because it's New Years Eve and they were going to be married the next day and skinny was going to get the insurance he/she needed to get help and get well. I have an interesting imagination but this songs speaks to me as a story and that's what I got from it:) |

Bon Iver – Skinny Love Lyrics
|
I'm not sure if this has been mentioned but I think this song could be referring to a tragic specific incident that occured between a couple whose love was dying but not literally until that night. I think that of of them attempted suicide in some way and the other is encouraging them with everything they have to not give up and that they'll get through it and be better in the morning. Whether or not the person made it through isn't clear but perhaps if they didn't, that's why the narrator was saying through the verses, " And I told you to be patient and I told you to be kind." And maybe that "skinny" blamed the narrator for greatly contributing to them wanting to take their own life (because of everything the narrator put them through) and that's why the narrator says," In the morning I'll be the one who holding all the tickets and you'll be owning all the fines." Meaning this time you put me through the worse possible pain but I pulled you out of it and saved your life because I really do love you. Ultimately the verses are everything that the narrator was feeling and or saying directly while they were trying to keep skinny alive. And they call them "skinny love" because their soul is almost shredded to the bone. |

Gotye – Somebody That I Used To Know Lyrics
| 12 years ago
|
This is a classic example of a person that is fundamentally addicted to his need to self sabotage his romantic relationships, in order to feel something. Because he has a pervasive pattern of repeating this vicious cycle, this displays that he is actually and only capable of being in love with the somberness and pain that love can inflict but not the act of love itself.
In the first and second verse, it shows his deepest vulnerabilities, whilst he is stripped completely naked. Because he can’t be happy and appreciate what he has, he fools himself into thinking that he’s not happy in his current relationship and still cares about his ex. However, he felt the same exact way when he was with his ex because he eventually convinces himself that they’re the problem when it’s actually him. When he says he’s glad it was over, it’s because now he can begin to process what he’s done and that he really did care about that person. And that he could of been happy, if he would of allowed himself to accept love.
In the third verse, the colors that begin to surge and spread depict that he feels most alive when he is trapped and wallowing in his endless collage of self pity. His angst and actions actually show that he desires and thrives off the rejection itself, more than the actual person. He needs to begin to love himself more before he can have a real chance at loving somebody else. Otherwise they’re always going to be somebody he use to know.
Kimbra serves as the catalyst for all the women who became trapped but finally escape his chains of dysfunctional love. She too felt immersed in the colors of passion but when she transformed into baring herself, she became free.
This individual is the type that always wants what they can’t have and once they get it, they don’t want it anymore. So they go from one person to the next. And when they’re with the next person, they’re wishing they were with the first. By this time, the first has moved on. So they’re in the process of destroying their current relationship because they’re still yearning for the first one they ruined. Then they move along again to the third and repeat it again. So the second, third and so on will always be somebody he use to know. |

Really? REALLY? Your story is extremely poetic but I don't believe it. Don't botch or defame an amazing song, because of your short cummings. That's too bad. Really too bad. |
