This song is about a girl being sexually abused by her father and eventually killing him. I don't know if it's true, but I heard that this song was written by Steven Tyler in response to many survivors' groups getting angry at the video for the song Ragdoll. |

Because regardless of what a person endured on earth, you still wish they were beside you. Or maybe that's just me. |

Kez: Yeah, the one verse definitely is that. Glad I'm not the only one to acknowledge that. I saw parts of this song used in a video collage by vh1 after September 11, and it took on even more personal meaning after that. Then it was used in the season finale of the West Wing, very artistically. It's just a beautiful song, chock full of meaning. |

The same comfort and peace that is supposed to be derived from the land in the song I can see as coming from another person. Either way, it is a very beautiful song. |
