I disagree with your rehab therory...Layne is basically saying Im sick and dying, i know this, now let me be...I will be fine...final verse he's saying im going home now....let me go in peace(when in rome)....Not sure if you know this but by the time this album was written, Layne was mostly secluding himself to his home and his deamons......food for thought.....so sad. |

As a recovering addict myself I agree....Im glad I typed in Sneker Pimps during my boring 9-5...this song/album brings me back to senior year in hs...interesting b/c I am a huge Alice in Chains/Grateful Dead fan....but I had this cd in my collection...fun/emotional music |

Wow!...are you really that ignorant or just young(if the ladder i apologize for the sarcasim).....its Aaron's memoir/tribute to the late & beautiful Layne Staley who batted a long, decomposing battle with heroin & crack addiction....when Layne died many of us feel grateful that his pain would finaly end & he would know peace...anyway, Aaron also battled with heroin addiction(but not quite as long and tradgic as Staleys)...was a AIC and got sober through Staleys pain....the song "Wake-up" which was written by Staley when he was in the side project Mad Season(95')...especially hit home for Lewis and inspired him to get sober......also...his daughter was born on the same day as Layne's death.....hope that helped u out! |

This song extremely sadden's me......this was written during Layne's early druggin days where the high was exciting and enjoyable...and then he slowly decayed right before me eyes. I am fortunate to be a genX'er and got to see AIC and this beautiful man many times....addiction really killed his soul long before he actually died (listen to Mad Season's Above album and I think you'll agree)...What's my drug of choice????Its you Layne Staley.....something I believe God put you on this earth to accompish.... and through the many lives you inspired and touched.....'your wings were not denied'. |

The rare to find 'Five Against One' in which I am so grateful to have a copy leans more towards Eddie's sudden poisoning (which is true)....but I feel this is purley opinon....I do know that before No Code McCready formed Mad Season and was dibbin in the needle with Stayley and Eddie quoted on saying he felt the group has been "bitten" by evil.......who knows & frankly who cares.....In my opinion the best song on No Code and awesome preformed live!!!! |

One of my fav's....especially the unplugged version...I have a feeling that the person who posted the lyrics got the "outta control" from that version.....Since I am a recovering heroin addict myself I can relate to Layne's pain. To be 'down in a hole' is what alot of junkies refer to the lowest point in life one can possibly go....so far that you are beyond help and are going to die from your addiction.....so sad....I have a strong feeling that is how Layne felt and lived the last ten years of his life.....Oh....and to all of you who keep breaking down Layne's pain lyric by lyric please stop and just feel it.....your gonna be 43 soon precious angel.....wish you saw the beauty in yourself that we all see........GOD BLESS ALL OF US THAT STILL ROCK OUT TO AIC!!!!!! |
