I just discovered GM's version of this Gladys Knight classic. WOW! He sings it with so much emotion and sincerity. It seems like a companion tune to Kissing a Fool. Whereas in Kissing a Fool, the person in the song seems melancholic, the person in this song person just needs a nudge to help him say what he feels. If his delivery matched GM’s passion, I would follow the person who sang this anywhere. |

I heard this song at the end of the "Man from U.N.C.L.E" soundtrack. Loved it; it's Nina Simone, she rarely had a bad track. I read the lyrics and a sly smile crossed my face. She is telling you about someone not does she love madly, but also drives her wild sexually. Everyone should have at least one person in their past (or present!) who fits that description. Makes for a fun story during truth or dare (wink and sly smile). |

This song was used on the 10/24/13 episode of the tv show Scandal. Not sure it fit the scene, but it definitely made me want to hear it. I see it as the desperate plea of one half of a couple in a long term relationship, that is possibly coming to an end. The person singing wants to continue and is desperately expressing their feelings. I would guess that it probably does not end well. |
