Indeed this is an awesome song You can tell from the beginning verse that this is supposed to be a "court case" by the way Alissa makes the lyrics seem like a debate between the convicted and a judge; the line "listen before you convict, you see I never did intend to ruin anything" Is the 'defendants' plea and the 'judge' responds with, "intent is a guilty conscience's white flag against pride" which means that the 'defendants' intention is a her guilty conscience's white flag (surrender) And in the chorus, "Through senses, what can we explain? Not joy, not guilt, not pain. Is love the same?" Through our five sense we can't explain or express joy or guilt. (pain is slightly different. We can definitely feel it with one of our five senses-feel)And the line "is love the same?" | When Amy says 'she' she's actually referring to the Angel of Death because in the song Whisper, she's describing how close to death is by saying "she beckons me shall I give in? upon my end shall I begin? Forsaking all I've fallen for I rise to meet the end." Should she give up? The Angel of Death is actually one of God's angels so technically the 'she' in whisper isn't the devil. Wow, I liked reading peoples' comments becasue alot of them were really good ideas and insights to what the meaning of this song is. I personally don't think this song is confined to only one meaning-it could be a number of things. I'm not sure if anyone already posted this because I didn't read all of the posts (sorry) but his song could even be about Jesus...just think about it... "Even though I'm the sacrifice" -Jesus sacrificed himself for mankind on the cross "You won't cry for me, not now" -Followers were told to rejoice not mourn (because he rose again) "Though I died to know you love me"-He died for peoples' sins and christians worship and love him "I'm all alone" Jesus had to face death on his own those were just some ideas but really like what a lot of people have said, this song can pretty much portray anything :D |

Sharon's is more classical (she was trained) and her music is kind of spooky and like some of you said, fantasy-like (also centered around one theme-betrayal). its actually "its a give and take kind of LIFE we make" so that part is clean dude i just realized the word was life not love not too long ago. also, "I could close the curtain" meaning, I could just close the curtain on stage and walk off. "but this is too much fun" meaning the rush on stage. then "you watch me every night" every night she performs cuz many concerts are typically at night. and the part "There's so much left unspoken between the two of us.." she's referring to performance using a technique known as personification. the part "its so much more exciting to look when you cant touch" you know how many fans want to grope the bands they love? yeah "You could say I'm different, maybe I'm a freak, but I know how to twist you, to bring you to your knees..." she means shes a different artist and some people don't like that kind of "different" and she could be referring to herself personally that we don't know because we don't know her like that. "I just can't resist the urge to stand here in the light" helloo? stage lights maybe..? "I get off on you getting off on me, give you what you want, but nothing is for free" she gets off on the crowds energy-getting off her. she gives them a performance-which they have to pay fror. see? nothing is for free. Like for example, even Guns N Roses compares it to a jungle for their song "Welcome to the Jungle" I doubt Eminem was paid to write what he writes. | Ya I agree with you all cuz it was kind of a shock to hear that twilight actresses were going to be in a rocker film but the twilight movies haven't really given Kristen Stewart any justice-sure shes not the greatest actress in the world, but she can act. Personally, I also think that Kristen Stewart seems more like a rock/grunge chick than anything; she just has that look to her. Lyrics in songs are supposed to be poetic but it doesn't mean that they're always going to be metaphorical or have some sort of double meaning. I mean, sure some of the wording in this song could make one think that but if any of you really know what Lzzy Hale is like, she's all about performing.
