Metallica – Bleeding Me Lyrics 15 years ago
out-motherf**king-standing song. one of the most powerful pieces of music i have ever heard in my life. i am a true metallica fan in the sense that i loved them even after their transition. nobody writes lyrics like james hetfield and in this one you can hear his pain come through his vocals. it's a song about mental anguish. about beating yourself down, taking the leech thats bleeding you and the leash that's leading you. it's about trying to fight your inner demons and how tough a struggle that is for some of us. i know exactly how james feels, my inner demons get the best of me at times and i can't stop to save my soul. even in the past few days i have had my world virtually fall apart and i have listened to this song over and over again to reassure myself that i'm not alone. that somebody else feels the pain that i do, the self hatred. i'm caught, i'm caught, i'm caught under.....

Metallica – The Day That Never Comes Lyrics 15 years ago
such a powerful song. i like the quote that raprocker007 put up. thanks bro! i've always loved and idolized james hetfield. as someone who has issues dealing with anger he has helped me a lot by being so open about his problems with the same thing. i have been a metallica fan as far as i can remember and have stood next to them through thick and thin. for all you people who trashed their music in the 90's grow up. it was the music they wanted to make, so they made it. songs like "bleeding me" are epic and really express what james was dealing with.

as far as what the song means to me it is definitely about some type of abusive relationship. i'm a soldier in iraq so i know all about that "relationship". i have supported the war from the beginning, i just question sometimes the policies we carry out in it. sometimes i feel betrayed by the "echelons above reality" and i definitely feel forgotten by my fellow americans who "just want an end to it so they dont have to 'deal' with it anymore". it is songs like this that help me get through. thank you metallica from the bottom of my heart.

Mick Jagger – God Gave Me Everything Lyrics 15 years ago
what great duo....mick jagger and lenny kravitz. let's face it, as far as epic rock songs not too many come out anymore. as a matter of fact rock music is being drained by crappy bands and little emo twerps that sing like they have cotton balls stuck up their nose. but every once in a while from the back comes a song that says "hey, that spirit of rock still lives on." kravitz did it with his own music. brought back that attitude with such rock masterpieces as "are you gonna go my way" and "rock n roll is dead" here he teams up with one of the biggest personalities of the genre to write a piece of music that snatches rock out of the grasps of pussy little wannabes. great guitar parts, great lyrics, of course jagger is amazing, but one of the best things about the song is kravitz's back up vocals on the chorus. they give the song an edgeyness it needed, they are an essential ingredient to make this song as good as ambrosia. mick....lenny....you have given us hope for the future of good music.

you are kidding me? 6 comments....that's it? this is an absolute classic. i pray to the lords of rock to make me a star someday just so i can cover this song. of course it is about the drug scene in 70's rock. but that aside, it just completely rocks. such a great groove to it. the gov't mule cover was outstanding as well.

Bob Seger – Night Moves Lyrics 15 years ago
what can be said about bob seger as a musician that would bring justice to his music. absolutely nothing. his talent leaves me speechless when i think about it. people my age don't appreciate such a great songwriter. he is one of the best lyricists american rock has produced, ever. his ability to paint a picture and tell a story with a song is astounding. i saw the man in concert in early 2007. grey hair and everything....he still rocks just as hard as on "live bullet". this song in particular is so cut and dry. about two young lovers, losing their innocence and enjoying each other's company but not taking it too seriously. and isnt it funny how you remember?

oh, and drpoundsign is insane if he really thinks all that.

Cream – Sunshine Of Your Love Lyrics 15 years ago
perfect rock song. my all time favorite. actually written by jack bruce and his buddy. i saw a documentary on it, the music was inspired after they saw jimi hendrix in concert. the line "it's getting near dawn" was where it all started, the two of them had been up all night with no lyrics to show for it and morning was coming. clapton just added the little lick at the end of the main riff. words cant describe the drum playing of ginger baker. in a genre where the high hat reins supreme and is a must he never hits it once in this song....extremely daring and genuis! if u have never heard it on vinyl you have never really lived. i'm only 24 years old, i stole my dad's turn table and his old vinyl's. this song is my favorite to play. it's songs like these that made me learn guitar in the first place. an absolute masterpiece. songs like this and "whole lotta love" have inspired every hard rock song after it. thank you jack, eric, and ginger for giving to the world such great music!

Silverchair – Pure Massacre Lyrics 15 years ago
first of all, to me this song is about war crimes and genocide commited against innocent people. now onto bigger and better things. i'm a staff sergeant in the united states army's infantry and i'm currently deployed to yusufiyah, iraq AKA "the triangle of death." i did a tour in 2003-2004, another in 2005-2006, and i've been here since September of 2007, making this my third tour. let me send out a message to all of you little hippy pricks who bad mouth the war without knowing a thing about it. you all talk about "big bad america and how it is killing the innocent ppl of iraq" how wrong you are! you should be ashamed of yourselves for making accusations about a tough situation you have not done your research about. i have seen and done it all in the war in iraq. you are correct, innocent people die here. i have seen many of these instances and i can say, with my right hand raised and my left hand on the bible, that 99.8% of them are a result of actions made by the insurgents. i have seen mothers and their children wiped off the face of the earth by a roadside bomb that missed its target. children are decapitated here because the sheik of their village cooperated with the so called "infidels." make no mistake people, the people (if you would refer to them as such) that we fight would love nothing more than to see you dead because you believe in a different god. this war was necessary and just. you can blame bush all you want but the last time i checked the congress of the united states, which is elected by the people, gave him authorization to go to war. so in a sense, the american people voted for this war, so you have nobody to blame but yourself. in case you havent opened your eyes allow me to do it for you, the war on terror should just go ahead and be called the third world war. there is no grey area, you either denounce terrorism or you support it. if you support it you should be dealt with. i think it is sad that america, as well as the rest of the free world, has no stomach for the fight anymore and is content to sit back and watch innocent people be slaughtered. you want to tell me saddam didnt have weapons of mass destruction? dont tell me, tell the thousands of kurds he killed with them in northern iraq after the 1991 gulf war, or the thousands of iranians he gassed in the 1980's. oh wait....you cant because they're dead. innocent people are rarely injured due to american action. most of the time we dont even harm insurgents, terrorists that we find are 80% of the time detained and stand trial before a panel of iraqi judges. what other war in history has been so forgiving? american soldiers are the toughest in the world. they are in a place where people try to kill them but we are governed by more "rules of engagement" than any other serviceman in the world. our own people tell us we are wrong for defending ourselves and those around us. soldiers in a tough situation, 18-20 years old, have gone to jail for making split second, life or death decisions. where is the justice in that? that is how americans fight wars....we play by rules to preserve innocent life. all the while we watch our captured comrades brutally tortured and murdered, their mutilated bodies dragged through streets, on the internet. how many terrorist attacks have been carried out in the united states since the invasions in afghanistan and iraq? if you go to google right now and try to find any you won't. why? it's simple, the wars in afghanistan and iraq provide a frontline in a war that had none. instead of terrorists going to america to get off on watching americans die they come here. when they come here, though, they fight trained soldiers instead of innocent civilians. so you are welcome for keeping you, your family, and your friends alive. we have paid for it with our blood so enjoy it. think of these things the next time you want to say something. the more you bad mouth the war the more insurgents laugh at the lack of support we get. to them our lack of a spine for war is comical. they believe it is our unwillingness to fight that will help them win. i leave you with a quote from the great edmund burke. sleep well tonight, i'm here fighting for you. ne desit virtus (let valor not fail)! wolfpack13 out.

"All that is necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing."
-- Edmund Burke
