Aesop Rock – Pigs Lyrics 13 years ago
"Hopefully the crack in his armor spreads to his averus"

averus isn't a word, avarice is though, and it means greed, which would pertain to this song and make a lot more sense.

This song is brilliant, Aesop has so much to give to the world through his music (if the average person could only understand his shit). He needs to put out another album though!

Proof – Kurt Kobain Lyrics 15 years ago
golson - it's called Kurt Kobain for a couple of reasons.
every song on the album Searching for Jerry Garcia was supposed to be named after a celebrity.
Kurt 'wrote' a suicide note before he died, whether he killed himself or Courtney Love killed him, but in this context we'll just assume he shot himself.
so he's writing a suicide letter as if he was Kurt Cobain, kinda putting himself into Kurt's shoes; good idea for a song. thanking everyone he loves and voicing his regrets. This song is beautiful.
RIP Proof.

Candlebox – Blossom Lyrics 16 years ago
O:! Oops. It deleted my explanation of the song. I said that I think it's about someone whose life is pretty sad, and there's this girl that kind of assuages it all and makes him feel better when she's around to love. She's naive and childish and young, and he helps her overcome that while she makes him feel like it's okay for a while. Then she leaves his presence and he realizes that he's got to go back to his misery and thinks of himself as alone until he sees her next, while she's out living life being the happy, beautiful, vibrant girl he sees her as. I don't see it as a break-up song, really. He has a hard time expressing his feelings, sadness and love, because he probably doesn't want to seem weak, and he wants to be leaned on rather than admitting that he needs somebody, too. I probably see it this way because I could then describe my relationship with this song, haha.

I don't know why in the world my boyfriend picked this to be our song - that, I find very funny.
But that's okay; because it's a beautiful song.

The Devil Wears Prada – Texas Is South Lyrics 16 years ago
I was looking at what everybody else said and thought it was the most ridiculous argument I've ever seen over the internet.
Just because their lyrics are religious doesn't mean that that's all that people should think when they hear them.
Each song could have several meanings for every person and they can see it as they'd like.
To me, and I don't want people arguing with me about this because it is my opinion and I'm not arguing back, religion doesn't really exist. It's a set of rules to keep everybody in line, telling them that something bad will happen if you don't listen to whatever force is more powerful than you. So basically, in my eyes, all religion is the same, because it's all saying, even if these religions don't do as they say themselves, that you should be nice to all other people, not give in to temptation and stuff like that - common sense. That goes for everybody, no matter what religion they are.
So, these songs do, too.
PEACE. not bigotry.
