The Maine – You Left Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
If you really like this song, I'd recommend The Cab. And Every Avenue, especially their songs Where Were You and A Story To Tell Your Friends. |
The Maine – You Left Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love this song so much. At first you think it's going to be this sad song about a breakup. "Oh you left me with a broken heart." But it turns into this great song about rising above the heartbreak and being better out of the relationship. My favorite lyrics: "And baby you can't fire me 'Cause I quit, right now" |
Alien Ant Farm – Smooth Criminal (Michael Jackson cover) Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Wow...lots of crap going on here in the comments for this song. The meaning in pretty clear, I don't think anyone can argue against it being about a murder. And, in my own personal opinion, AAF did an amazing job on thiis cover. MJ's original is horrible. The rhythym is all over the place and AAF really took this song to a whole new level. They did an AMAZING job on this. |
Fall Out Boy – Saturday Lyrics | 15 years ago |
sleepybassist, I agree 100% with what you said - "We need to embrace new and local music instead of just bitching and yearning for old stuff." Amen. And Garamore_Finley...why are you even on this page if you hate FOB so much? And do you REALLY think Pete is a "suicidal wannabe pornstar"...or are you just jealous of his sexy bod? On to the song...I love it. I think it's their strongest song from the TTTYG album. Ever notice how (at least in the Live in Pheonix dvd) when they play this live, Pete's screaming sounds creepy, but he looks really really calm and serene? Strange... "Pete and I attacked the laws of Astoria with promise and precision and mess of youthful innocence" --Those lines make me think of The Goonies. It's set in Astoria (OR) and the second line basically describes the kids in the movie. Plus, nobody else has said it, so I'm going to go with a reference to The Goonies is what it is. :) |
Fall Out Boy – What's This? Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Fall Out Boy was born to play this song. Honestly, TNBC + FOB = love. |
Simple Plan – I'd Do Anything Lyrics | 15 years ago |
"Cause so many things were left unsaid But now you're gone And I can't think straight" The most painful thing is when you love someone so much you would essentially to anything just to have them and they're all you can think about, but they've moved on. This song is heart-wrenching and wonderful all at the same time. |
Reel Big Fish – Another F.U. Song Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I love this song. It's way too catchy :) When it comes up in my shuffle and I hear "Hey kids, it's time to use the F word" I just laugh and smile and get real happy. It's just a great song to say, I don't care about everyone else or what's "right" by your standards. I'm going to do what I want and live my life how I want. |
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – Slipping Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Wow, I didn't even realize that. Good catch! |
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – Bad Horse Chorus Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Yes. haha. That's one of the reasons Joss is so amazing - he's so random. A horse, a fake former president and a dead rockstar. Oh, and they're all supervillains. :D Gotta love it. |
Cartel – Wasted Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think that each stanza referring to someone, is about different people (with the exception of the end in first person). I've spent lots of time thinking about this song. I think the first 3 stanzas are all about people's lives who were "wasted" when they didn't really have a chance and they all died. A newborn baby, a teenager who took a turn at the wrong place/wrong time, and a man with cancer. You can't really control those things. The next 3 stanzas after the chorus are all wasted lives that you CAN control. Their lives are wasted too, but in a different way because they are still living and trying to get by through their family problems. And then he contemplates about his own life. Looking at where he's at and where he's going. Worrying about his future. And I think that "we're all wasted" over and over again is kind of like a reassurance that we're not alone. So many people have problems and have "wasted lives" We don't have to be alone. |
The Offspring – Not The One Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Okay...so...I get this song. We have to deal with the situations that previous generations left for us...but at the same time...they had to do the exact same thing. Stop whining, it's just what happens. You can blame the generation before us, but it's not like everything was perfect before them and they screwed it all up...things progress over the years...decades...centuries. And why in the world does everybody blame every single thing on Bush? Honestly. I want an actual, intelligent response. Oh, and the Chairmen of corporations are people too, in case you forgot. It's also not supposed to be "We the lonely, impoverished People." |
The Last Five Years – Still Hurting Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I cried the first time I heard this song. It's very powerful. Someone ending the relationship all based on their opinion and you can't do anything to change it. |
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – Everything You Ever Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think the last shot is there to just show us that even though he really HAS become Dr. Horrible and part of the ELE, that he still is Billy inside and he's still hurting. Beneath the hard, confidently evil exterior of Dr. Horrible is a man that lost the woman he loved most. He's still very human. |
Flobots – Handlebars Lyrics | 16 years ago |
AMEN, ninmast! I agree with you 100%! Any negative song out there today and people will stretch it to try and spin it at as an anti-Bush or anti-America song, just because they're a bunch of bitter, idiotic liberals. It's so retarded. *sidenote* I honestly don't see how anybody thinks that Obama would be good for this country. */sidenote* I seriously agree with everything you said. It feels great to have an ally on here! I completely agree with it just being about power corrupting. Espeically with how the song starts off calm and then builds from there. Who says this song can't be about Hitler? Hitler THOUGHT he had the best intentions. He was completely INSANE, and then he caused all this damage and turmoil just because he had an arrogance and elitist feel about himself and Germans. I know I'm playing Devil's advocate here, but I'm just trying to give everyone something to think about |
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – Everyone's a Hero Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I didn't like this one much the first few times, but now I really like it. Nathan is SO convincing as Captain Hammer. "Everyone’s a hero in their own way In their own not-that-heroic way" :D hehe. |
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – Caring Hands Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love how before one of the big group numbers, we got to hear some of Felicia's voice by herself. She has a beautiful voice. |
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – Bad Horse Chorus (Reprise) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Again, I just love the randomness. he still votes "Neigh" hahahaha. It's perfect. |
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – My Freeze Ray Lyrics | 16 years ago |
First time I saw this, I had this song stuck in my head for a complete 24 hours before Act 3 came out. It drove my friends crazy. I love how awkward and dorky Billy is. The whole part when he accidently says "love your hair" to her. :) Genius! |
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – A Man's Gotta Do Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I completely agree hamfoh. And I love Dr. Horrible's lines in the end! Especially - "Did you notice that he threw you in the garbage?" Balls. Haha. I laughed so hard when I finished the first act. |
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – My Eyes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I LOVE this song. Neil and Felicia should duet more often. Their voices just go really well together. When they do that last verse and it shows both of them in a split screen, it's my favorite part. And I love the way their lyrics are different while they're singing at the same time, but kind of come together in certain spots. Very well-written song and the performance is amazing! |
Katy Perry – Ur So Gay Lyrics | 16 years ago |
all this pish-posh about what is and isn't a derogatory word/phrase. being politically correct is so overrated. you basically aren't allowed to say anything nowadays without somebody getting offended. people need to lighten up. you can't please everyone. it's impossible. bottom line: it's a fun song. katy perry can sing what she wants. if you find it offensive, don't listen to it. |
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – Bad Horse Chorus Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love how random this song is. Especially with the cowboys. But strangely it all fits and flows still...that's the beauty of Joss Whedon. My favorite line: "So make the Bad Horse gleeful Or he’ll make you his mare" |
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – Everything You Ever Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Really powerful in lyrics and musically. I'm almost scared of Dr. Horrible when he's meeting with the ELE. And then that last shot just pulls at my heartstrings. I want to give Billy such a big hug! |
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – Brand New Day Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Love this song! "When I hand her the keys to a shiny new Australia." :) Great stuff. And I just love those fast verses. Neil is so talented! |
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – So They Say Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It's so hard to pick favorites in the Dr. Horrible songs, but I think this might just be my favorite song. I love the "hammerettes" especially the last line. "Four sweater vests!" They're great singers. And then I just love how one verse can be so meaningful (penny/dr. horrible's about happy endings) and another verse from the same song can be so silly (captain hammer's) "We do the weird stuff!" |
Dr. Horrible's Sing Along Blog – Penny's Song Lyrics | 16 years ago |
At first I didn't really care for this song too much, but then I listened to it more and now I absolutely love it. First of all, Felicia's voice is incredible. Also, the lyrics really are applicable to anybody going through any hard time in their life. |
Kerli – Walking On Air Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I really love this song. Her voice is really different and unique. She's definitely got amazing talent. |
This World Fair – Drama Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love this song. The chorus makes me want to sing it out loud. |
Weird Al Yankovic – Stuck In A Closet With Vanna White Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Kind of reminds me of the wacky dreams I always had as a kid (except...mine didn't include vanna white) Just another great, random song! |
Weird Al Yankovic – Taco Grande Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I have to admit, this isn't my favorite Weird Al song I do love that line though. "Just don't drink the water" |
Weird Al Yankovic – That Boy Could Dance Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Everytime I listen to this song, I'll start cracking up after singing the first 2 lines. Gotta love the classic Weird Al songs like this. I think I still have the old cassette tape with this song on it. :) |
Weird Al Yankovic – Talk Soup Lyrics | 16 years ago |
My favorite part: "I'm just your average schizophrenic nymphomaniac Albino go-go dancer, you see Nothin' so bad that I can't share it With a billion friends on national TV" I love this song. I had forgotten about it for years until about a year ago and fell in love with it again. Talk Soup! |
Weird Al Yankovic – Hardware Store Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I have to give major props to Weird Al for this one. Not only is the concept and general song amazing and hilarious, but that list....whoa man. And if there's one thing I've learned about Weird Al throughout the years, he can sing fast and annunciate too. Which is so incredibly difficult. He's a genius |
Weird Al Yankovic – Pancreas Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love this song! Haha, it actually helped me in my college Nutrition class. We were talking about the digestive system and my professor starts on the pancreas. He goes "The pancreas secretes insulin and what other hormone?" In my head I was singing this song and said "glucagon" I never actually admitted where I had learned it. Oh, and it helped me on the final exam too. So I have a special place in my heart for this song |
Weird Al Yankovic – Midnight Star Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Love this song. It was always my favorite when I was about 8 years old and I've never forgotten the words! My favorite line "Inquiring minds like mine wanna know" And I agree with Bonehead. It is one of his strongest songs musically. |
Weird Al Yankovic – Polkas On 45 Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is probably my favorite polka (angry white boy polka is so close though!). It's the one we always listened to on the old cassette tapes in car trips when i was a kid. There are a lot of memories. |
Weird Al Yankovic – Alternative Polka Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is one of my favorite polkas. I love when he sings NIN. He makes it so upbeat and fun! And I always have to sing the last line the loudest. Weird Al can make any subject matter/song fun and catchy |
Linden – Attached Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love this song. It's so catchy. It's pretty easy to see the meaing : when you have fallen head-over-heels, crazy in love with someone and you just have to tell them. You hope that they will feel the same because you're so attached to them and won't be able to forget them, even if you tried. |
Cavalier – Jenny Lynne Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is one of my favorite Cavalier songs, even thought it's a lot shorter than most of them. 'You're not missing that much back at home But home is missing you I am missing you" Those lines just pull at my heart every time |
The 88 – Hide Another Mistake Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love the sound of this. I heard this song (and the band) for the first time in an episode of How I Met Your Mother. I immediately was hooked! |
Random Thoughts – The One That Got Away Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I completely agree with yellowraincoat. One of those things where you fall so quickly you hardly even understand it, but it feels perfect. And then all the sudden it's over with no warning. I think those are the hardest because you never want to forget, but at the same time, it just begins to feel like it was all some dream |
Hudson River School – Useless Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This was the first song I heard of HRS and it's still my favorite. Great lyrics (I love words like dichotomy) and awesome harmonies. The music is just overall awesome and fun to listen to/sing along to. |
The Spill Canvas – The Truth Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I agree with maqus21. Those lines just completely make the song. They're fun to sing out loud too. |
S Club 7 – Natural Lyrics | 16 years ago |
OH man, this was my favorite song when I was obsessed with S Club 7 about...7 years ago. Dang. This brings me back. It's not bad though, looking back on it now. Got a happy feel to it. |
Four Star Mary – Pain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I remember years ago thinking I needed to check out Four Star Mary because of Buffy and Dingoes Ate My Baby! :) But I had forgotten until I bought the Buffy album a few months ago (I know...I'm slow) because I had been watching all the dvds again and suddenly had this urge to listen to bands from the late 90s. lol. Great song!! |
Simple Plan – Time to Say Goodbye Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I listened to this song a lot when I was having a lot of drama/problems with a college roommate just when this cd came out. The chorus reminds me so much of my views on her. And especially these lines: "It's like you always play the victim And I'm the one you always blame" She has problems with thinking that she can do no wrong and everyone else is at fault. I would listen to this in the car, and thank SP for such a great song for me to vent through |
Simple Plan – Vacation Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love this song. Lol. It's one of the greatest "burn!" songs ever. And it's so straightforward - "I never liked you." oh, snap! |
Simple Plan – No Love Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I see some sort of abusive relationship. I think that part is pretty obvious. "He's pulling up in the driveway And you don't make a sound 'Cause you always learn To hold the things you wanna say You're always gonna be afraid" But the great thing about this song, is that people can relate it to any relationship. For one person it might mean some different situation that one another person sees it as. I personally see it as a man that lies/verbally abuses (at least) his girlfriend/wife. But the line "You learned the hard way to shut your mouth and smile" I can relate to for completely different reasons. Took me a few times, but this song really grew on me and now it's one of my favorites. |
Simple Plan – I Can Wait Forever Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I love love love this song. And I do love this new style they've got. I agree with NeonFlame, they have matured a bunch in their music. It's great to see a band that can put out new albums and actually grow and become even better. |
Simple Plan – What If Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This is one of my favorite SP songs...I'm surprised it doesn't have many comments. A lot of these lines (and the tite) have special meaning with me because of an almost-relationship I had with a friend. "Cause the world keeps turning (So why do you tell me you care if you're not going to stay?) And my heart's still burning (Why do you tell me you care?)" I love the power in those lines. Why would you tell me you cared about me when you were just going to move on and leave me? |
