Richard Ashcroft – A Song For The Lovers Lyrics 14 years ago
I'm sure it's "DJ, play a song for the lovers, tonight".

"Today, play a song for the lovers, tonight" doesn't really make sense.

I always thought the line was "Raise up the anchor baby, why do we have to get weighed down?"

The Verve – On Your Own Lyrics 16 years ago
Is it me or there a crackle/hiss sound distortion at 2:54? Wonder if its on the original tapes or just my copy? Anyway, I've always thought the repeated lines at the end were "can't get rid of this hole inside".

Love the song. Not sure about the meaning of the lyrics though!

Manic Street Preachers – Kevin Carter Lyrics 16 years ago
MissD summed up the story behind the song pretty much spot on. By the way not that long before Richie's disapearance, James played the song to him. Apparantly Richie didn't like the music, he preferred the heavier sounds from the earlier albums.

At a gig, Ian has introduced the song as a "jaunty little tune about divorce". There you go.
