Counting Crows – High Life Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Definitely one of my favorite CC songs. I agree with the others, mainly, about how he seems to be stuck, unchanging, while everything and everyone around him continues to change, and to bloom. He's stuck watching them all grow into their lives. I absolutely love the parts where he's trying desperately to show someone how he's just like them, and how they should stay because of it. The Rocket Summer's cover of it is amazing, too. Really emotional. |
Counting Crows – Carriage Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I kind of feel like an idiot for not seeing all the allusions to a child and such. I'm not sure what I thought this song was about, but I don't think it was that. But it makes the song mean so much more, and it really is heartbreaking. But it reaffirms why I respect the Counting Crows so much. How many people can write about such an emotional experience, let alone be so candid as to explain it? Amazing, as always, CC. |
Michelle Featherstone – Coffee & Cigarettes Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think it's terribly sad, how this woman loves a man so much that she's willing to get rid of everything else in her life, because she refuses to believe that it's the man who is responsible for her sadness. But, eventually she does realize that there's nothing else she can give up, only him, and only them she will be whole. Michelle's voice on this is so sad & lovely, I can't listen to it enough. |
Tommy Lee – Say Goodbye Lyrics | 16 years ago |
It's a pretty obvious song, but the meaning is great all the same. It's about letting go of something that's so familiar, and how hard it is. He talks about how difficult it is to let go, but how he knows he has to. "Every step is stepped with doubt But still I walk here, trying to find some peace," it's a great track off a great album, with Nick Carter (BSB?!) helping out on vocals on this particular track. |

Jack's Mannequin – I Need You Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I can't believe more people haven't commented on this song - on the beauty of it, at least. It's off of Tommy Lee's album (which is surprisingly good) and I think andrew does a WONDERFUL job with it. it's so heartachingly good. "No not much I'm not willing to do I cannot be without you I need you." Ah. So great. |
Bethany Joy Lenz – Songs in My Pockets Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I believe the songs about finally coming clean about everything. She finally recognizes that she can't just hide behind her feelings anymore. She was thinking about just not saying her true feelings, but then - "Staring at your photograph, I can't take it down There's still a fire in me yet," makes me think that she's not ready to throw in the towel just yet. It's a beautiful song. |
Sugarcult – Saying Goodbye Lyrics | 17 years ago |
This song is sad & yet really easy to relate to. She just wants to leave & get away from all the drama and jealousy, but what's worse is that no matter where you go, all the shit's still gonna be there. Girls are always going to talk behind your back, boys are always going to use you, & you'll always have to put up defenses just to cope with it. |
William Tell – Just Like You, Only Sweeter Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree, nicholie, it does seem like he's reminding himself. And i think that perhaps he didn't realize just how bad the first relationship was until he found the new girl, and he can now see just how much better it could be. |
The Spill Canvas – Himerus And Eros Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Despite the fact that I am a girl, I relate to this song to an incredible degree. You keep TRYING to find out more about the other person, you keep TRYING to ask questions, only to get avoided. And no matter how hard you try to not like someone, they do seem to brainwash you, and you're stuck in this perpetual cycle of confusion, what with liking them so much and not wanting to ruin the little relationship and closeness you have, to being so frustrated with them for not wanting the same things you do. you end up romanticizing everything, in hopes that maybe you can construe their actions into more than lust, but in the end, you know it's nothing more than a hookup to them. a convenience. |
William Tell – Trouble Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I love this song, it's so pretty. "She makes me think that we don't know who we are..." ughslgadh i love him. |
William Tell – Slipping Under (Sing Along To Your Favorite Song) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I was under the impression that they lyrics were, "sing along TO your favorite song, it takes you back..." since thats, idk, the song name. Was i completely wrong? |
William Tell – Fairfax (You're Still The Same) Featuring Andrew McMahon Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Favorite song on the album, easily. Lyrics are amazing & it really is just a fun song. |
Juliet Simms – Makeup Smeared Eyes Lyrics | 17 years ago |
