The Beatles – Please Please Me Lyrics 15 years ago
The man clearly wants a blowjob. "Please please me" ("please blow me") "like I please you" ("because I went down on you & I think I deserve a little reciprocation"). "Oh yeah, why do you make me blue?" ("You keep blue-balling me.") Seriously. The song is about a blowjob.

Tori Amos – Mother Lyrics 16 years ago
Sometimes, I play this song and weep openly. When I listen to this, I think of a controlling, forceful mother who wants to make her daughter do all the things that she, the mother, never could...perhaps be famous. I imagine a mother who wanted to be a dancer but never achieved her dreams, and decides to live vicariously through her daughter, although her daughter doesn't share the mother's aspirations. The mother makes her daughter dance for a man who could make her famous, and when he comes in a big green limo to take the daughter away to stardom, the mother tells her to be a big girl and not to cry. It's so sad and so beautiful all at once.

Tori Amos – Silent All These Years Lyrics 16 years ago
It's hard to be in a position where someone is treating you as if you're below them, constantly belittling you and making you feel as if you're not important. It's even harder when you love that person and have no strength to leave them, even if they make you feel shitty. I think this song epitomizes the journey of being put down by someone you love, whether a lover of a family member or a friend, but all the while you know, deep inside, that you mean more than they allow you to believe, and that you do have a voice...it's just hidden.

Tori Amos – Bells For Her Lyrics 16 years ago
I think all women can relate to this song: there's been a time in our lives where a really close friend suddenly only had time for her boy, and you can't understand how such a strong bond is suddenly weakened by the arrival of a man. It's heartbreaking, and you feel so hopeless because you wanted to be friends forever the way you planned as children, and yet there's this new guy in her life and he takes your place and all you can do is sit back and watch the inevitable.

Tori Amos – Leather Lyrics 18 years ago
I think this song is about a woman who becomes frustrated by the fact that her relationship with the man she loves doesn't surpass the sexual, & that he doesn't return her feelings. It's like she's saying, "Hey, I love you! & I know all you want is sex & if that's all I can hope to get out of this, than fine! But don't you want more than just a quick screw?" That's my 2 cents.
