Bloc Party – Uniform Lyrics 18 years ago
Aparently it's sposed to be about Kele's frustration at the lack of individuality in today's youth culture, is a twisting epic. It also has Russell on the EBow =O! (That's the really cool sound they got going through the song)..

Bloc Party – This Is Not a Competition Lyrics 18 years ago
Basically: Relationship, strong faith between them, BUT the person that is ebing sung about obviously is troubled in some way, with the cuts on their arm (most probably self-harm), and it may also be that they need the support. But, the 'narrator' seems to feel the same pain as the subject "I ache, because you ache".. if you catch my drift. Like I've already said a few times today, not explaining too much today, sorry. Just doing this out of boredom (Whilst listening to the ol' Bloc ofcourse)..

Bloc Party – The Marshals Are Dead Lyrics 18 years ago
I thought that this was to do with being ruled by the government, being sent to war and stuff. To me for some reason it was a very 'World War' feel to it. And I get a very vivid picture of beauttiful fields, but with wars. But aaanyways, yeah, the people being ruled by the government is my opinion. I'm sire someone will explain it better later, or maybe I will when I can be bothered, I'm just rather bored atm, which is why I am doing this.

Keeping it simple, I just basically always thought this song was about the Iraqi war, and was based around that, everyone else seems to explain these things alot better than me.

Bloc Party – Pioneers Lyrics 18 years ago
So says the band, “it’s a warning to those who think they can change the world. Not everyone can, hardly anyone does. It’s about talking up your own limitations. Trying to break down the ridiculousness attached to rock bands. If we’re about anything we’re about that avoiding cliché, letting ideas stand for themselves.”

Bloc Party – Plans Lyrics 18 years ago
To me, it's pretty much about future plans in life, moving on, making the most of your life, 'the big wide world'. Like how I'm feeling about leaving school and all my friends, and basically my home, and losing, just everything yeah :p. Bout as much as an explanation you will be getting out of me atm.

Bloc Party – So Here We Are Lyrics 18 years ago
Well, put it basically, I just feel that it is about a failed realtionship, of a person that he was very faithful too. He remains faithful to this person maybe, but anyways, it either mends it's self/he takes drugs lol/the whole suicide thing again. Maybe more options but I'm not in a very 'explainitary' mood atm.

Bloc Party – Tulips Lyrics 18 years ago
Also aren't "Tulips" in some sort of conection with "Oppurtunity" maybe it's my misundertsanding, but it would be cool if that was true, brings the song together more. With the 'Gorwing oppurtunities' and stuff :). I think it goes rather nicely if I'm correct. The song DOEs pretty much explain itself, the only metaphores being the fire and the snow part, which I believe have been explained well.

Well, sorry about my lasst comment I missed out good information, and when I rambled on about myself, I wasn't thiknking, just typing, hence it doens't make any sense, I was sorta changing the subject in the middle of the sentence I guess, or backtracking. Basically, I let my feelings grow too much, and went too deep into wanting it to work out, yet my shyness and inexperience and lack of confidence/eteem ruined it all. I'll shut up now, you lot talk about the song some more.

Bloc Party – This Modern Love Lyrics 18 years ago
Well, just in my opinion, linking to me slightly, I see it as someone, with every little experience in relationships, trying not to mess this up. Apologising for things he may be doing wrong:
"Don't get offended
If I seem absent minded
Just keep telling me facts
And keep making me smile
Don't get offended
If I seem absent minded
I get tongue-tied
Baby, you've got to be more discerning
I've known never known what's good for me"
They just want everything to go right (Perhaps thinking a too-good-to-be-true situation, that's just how I link), hence the "I will pay for you any time". I guess that the first verse is just metaphores, "the forest" being maybe the loneliness and the wilderness of not exactly being 'one for realtionships', "cut adrift" like maybe pushed aside and not used to actually being 'liked' for a relationship. The "Trying to reach me" part, could be about the person trying express their feelings to the 'narrator' in some way. The rest I could explain, but will take a long time. But hopefully if you follwed me, you understand what I meant. It just reminded me alot of me chance of a REAL relationship with someone I maybe even loved, that I ruined by putting everything on the line for the chance I guess. I learnt form my mistakes, don't just do what they want and put everything you got into it, because it hurts too much when it doesn't work out. Hopefully for me though, it may work out, and I wont be so pathetic, like this guy in the song, and going all out on it, but also being to shy, because didn't want to mess things up. I'm finding it hard to explain, eventhough I have gone through it my head SO many times. But aaaanyways, instead of me opening up to random strangers, this is about the song, and maybe my experiences explained my veiws on the song.

Jesus Christ megbee! Calm the hell down, they are putting across their opinions, and to show they they feel that away about the lyrics, they say 'the song is about' or you know, what the song is about to them. I only just signed up on this thing, I thought everyone was nice, and listenieng to eachothers' opinons, until you came along. You are officialy my first enemy on this site (you twat), Be proud =D. And the interpretations of the lyrics I have witnessed so far seem really good. Song don't have to have a specific meaning, they are meant to link with the listener in a different way, than to the writer really :P. So NO opinion is incorrect 'megsbee' =D.

Bloc Party – Helicopter Lyrics 18 years ago
Kele said, it's not specifically about Bush. He said it was someone that he knew. I THINK he may have also said: that made alot of mistakes, and ate alot of junk food. Them probably being the aspects most emphasised in the song. The whole 'Hoping for a miracle' bit, makes it seem like, they've gotten them selves stuck in so far now, and can't get out of it, but not even trying to really. 'Bury your head in the sand' basically, don't want to see, go away, hide yourself from the world sort of thing, "You should be ahsamed" sorta aspect maybe.

Bloc Party – She's Hearing Voices Lyrics 18 years ago
I think it could be involved with the mental illness things, but mainly, I like the idea of it being about her possessed in some sort. Not necessarily by a demon or something, but by thoughts, or a person that could have gotten to her. The Neevr alive bit, could be that it was some sort of spirit that possessed her, or that it was something she imagined. It ofoucrse could be about either the woman, with like split personalities, or the 'narrator' being SLIGHTLY psycho. Could be something like lies elevating, so much that certain things comes real or w/e. These things are just thoughts rushing through my head. Maybe even, the suicide subject again, she's gulping down these pills, because her mind is controlled with these over-whelming thoughts, be they of the relationship with the narrator, maybe :P. And the whole thing about maybe the narrotr coming home, seeing her there, and so on, leading to the aggression of burning the house. Aklso maybe blaming himself, causing him "Never ever alive".
I think I might be goign slightly psycho myself with all these thoughts about these lyrics I'm comenting on. Hah well, if someone would be kind enough to try and chanel them down into reason, I would be highly grateful.

Bloc Party – Positive Tension Lyrics 18 years ago
To me, at first I thought this song could be about 'Foreplay' or adventuring new sexual limits or something, I dunno. But Kele said it was about 'Boredom' in a sense, he used a different word which I can't remember, but boredom was his description. Like I dunno, maybe he meant about the adventures in someone's mind, or the adventures between two people, or ANYTHING. I'd love to ask about all his songs meanings =D!

To add to my thoughts, it could be something like, the person killed themselves to be with someone else, or they ARE dying. I dunno, I'm just gushing out my main ideas to yopu people here :P. I'm sure someone will come along with the REAL meaning soon enough =D.

Bloc Party – Hero Lyrics 18 years ago
To me, this song is like, modern day, avaerage-joe sorta hero thing. Like this woman, or maybe the character who's eyes you are seeing it through is leading a pretty normal, boring sort of 'crappy' life. But then.. the hero comes, and saves the day OR! and a bit OR, The main person dies, and is set free into the 'promised land'. Perhaps even suicide, Bloc Party seem pretty deep from time to time. But anyways, the reason for death could be based around the fact of a silly failed romance, or any other messages you people can find in the song.

Just my opinion, don't give me no hate for it :P,
