ok, sorry if this is repeating, but i didn't feel like reading thru all the arguments up there. SETTING THE RECORD STRAIGHT: THE CRUSADES: Were campaigns started by the Popes of the Roman Catholic Church. These campaigns were to reclaim "the holy land" from the Islamic people who were setteled there at that time. This all took place during the rise and fall of the western Roman Empire (ancient times). marvin-martian is right, there were no guns so the song has NOTHING to do with the crusades. THE SONG: is all about war, plain and simple. It's about wartime experiences and the wanting to get home safe to see your loved ones. "Fight for honor, fight for your life. Pray to god that our side is right. You know we won but still we lose, until i make it home to you. Watching the death toll rise wondering how im alive. Strangers blood on my hands, showed all i can.
