Yellowcard – The Takedown Lyrics
|
The Takedown. Great song, with enough violin and a guitar solo to go around with as well as a fast pace. The song MIGHT be about Ben Harper's departure from Yellowcard (How did I end up like this, the lonely/broken/chosen one? Your greatest takedown?) Either that, or it's a description of disappointing someone. |

Yellowcard – Light Up the Sky Lyrics

Disregard the comment I made MUCH earlier about this song. It's still about someone's devotion to someone they truly love.
The part to disregard? Steph's a friend of mine. I found someone I would truly LIght Up the Sky for. We met at the first day of college, and this was the song I played for her just to pass the time. Liz (the girl) liked it, despite my terrible vocals, but found it awkward at first to have a guy sing to her the first day of school within two hours after meeting each other. After eighteen days, she said yes and we've been going out almost 6 months. Just felt like sharing. |

Most definitely touching, especially with the recordings of Ryan's grandpa reading. Just imagine those times back then and how his grandpa's describing it. |

Great song, no doubt going to be my favorite off the new album. Talks about how much you love someone and how you'd do everything. For some odd reason, I kept remembering this girl Steph who I asked to prom, but kindly turned me down. Even though many would not consider her the hottest girl in school, it's this instinct that she's the first girl that pops up in my mind when I hear the song. Don't worry, I won't ignite for her. |

Yellowcard – Five Becomes Four Lyrics
|
Five Becomes Four, as the title suggests, talks about Ben Harper. Ben was with Yellowcard when the band skyrocketed in popularity with the album "Ocean Avenue". And, like the announcement of someone's departure, it's going to take some time for the remaining members to "find a little strength to redefine". |

Yellowcard – Two Weeks From Twenty Lyrics
| 18 years ago
|
Ok, just to point out the issue revolving around pride as a soldier:
How can you obviously be proud of being a soldier in this situation? If you declared war and you yourself fight in the front line, then you have all the right to be proud. But, did these soldiers fight a war they started? No. These soldiers are fighting in a war someone else started. The man to blame. George W. Bush. These soldiers lost their right to be proud by being sent to Iraq, risking their lives for a mistake they never commited. It was George W. Bush who made that mistake. He waged war, putting his people in danger. He's willing to take the risk of people losing a father, a husband, a brother, a son, a friend, or whoever they are for you, and doesn't have the balls to fight alongside these soldiers.
P.S. Type the word failure in Google.com and click I'm feeling lucky. |

Don't know about Dimebag Darrell that much, but a fellow guitarist of a high caliber such as his simply deserves so much respect. RIP Dimebag Darrell. Avenged Sevenfold has done well in their share of respect for you. |

Revolves around individuality and how people expect you to be the same as they are. Pretty nice song to end the album. |

Alter Bridge – The End Is Here Lyrics

The song's melody is very familiar, the intro. But if the melody was used before, Tremonti did a pretty good job 'converting' it to rock. |

Ok, to fill in that part the guy's missing in the lyrics:
Second Verse:
She sings in my head as she sheds through her skin
Touch that taste like fire
Hands to what eyes could no longer defend
Hands to fuel desire |

Definitely Big Fish. Finally, another song with a female guest vocalist. Hopefully, a friend of mine and I can play and sing this song together. |

Avenged Sevenfold – Beast and the Harlot Lyrics

Ok, first thing about the one song issue: There may be strength in numbers, but one makes a difference. I don't care if all the other songs suck. That's bound to happen to every one in every band in their list. There's always a bad song and there's always a good song. Get over it.
Next, the song. Finally, a really kick ass metal rock song that has does not hate religion, but instead talks about it. Babylon, the beast, the harlot, all from the book of Revelations in the Bible. It's a really good song. With Shadow's new voice, Syn and Zacky's sick guitar skills, Johnny on the bass and the Rev ripping it on the drums, let's see anyone beat a song of this caliber. |

Yellowcard – Holly Wood Died Lyrics
|
Very good way to end the album. A double meaning song that's really catchy, and fast as opposed to their melancholy end in their album Ocean Avenu with Back Home. Talks about Hollywood life through their fictional character, Holly Wood, who shows up in most of the songs in the album. There is more sense of maturity than the last album, and it's really good. |

Mark Tremonti rumor: After hearing this song and his solo, I'm guessing Mark Tremonti had his hands replaces with mechanical ones. Either that, or it's just pure bone, flesh and blood mixed with skill and years of training. Mark Tremonti is one of the few that can be considered the greatest guitarists ever (alongside Tom Morello) |

Currently, this song is the greatest mockery in my life. 'Don't cha wish your girlfriend was fun like me?' I wish I could answer that, but I don't have a girlfriend, and this song is mocking me, clearly. |

Ok, having a situation revolving around this song, I think it's just an honor that I get the first comment. This song, on my view, talks about this girl that he can't really forget, can't stop thinking about and talks about it with someone else. I have the exact same situation, where I treat my history teacher as my therapist and talk to her all about this girl, how I like her so much, how I hate the guy she's going out with, and how I wish I never screwed up in the first place and maybe we could have gone out instead. |

Mostly about sex, but is very catchy. I'm currently learning the song's chords to play it to this girl I know, but I have no intention related to the song itself (no, I'm not getting her to get laid). |

Creed – Higher Lyrics

This song is one of the best out there. It's Creed, and yes, Alter Bridge is so much better, but you can't really ignore the roots. It's about wishing for Utopia, or paradise, the perfect place to be, and how people wish it's true. I heard this song over and over and I liked it. They used this song in WWE when they went to Iraq to visit the troops. It really fits the whole situation, that the troops wished for a better place so they don't have to fight or get killed over something that could have been solved without violence. |

The Soundtrack Of Our Lives – Big Time Lyrics

Very catchy song, if you asked me. I first heard it as Wrestlemania 21's theme song. I looked for this song everywhere and luckily found it. It kicked so much ass despite some simplicity. It's about change, and how you should accept the only permanent thing in the world. |

Drowning Pool – Step Up Lyrics

So take some good advice
You better stop and think twice
Before you take your first step
Out that door
Perfectly fits in the song's theme of stepping up. Sorry about adding wrestling here, but I like how they fit the song with the Wrestlemania 20 recap. It starts with one of Godsmack's acoustic songs, then speeds up to this song. Every time the chorus plays, they always show the underdog, who is 'stepping up.' |

Our Lady Peace – Whatever Lyrics

This is definitely one of the best songs I've heard. It's all about getting to your goal while ignoring any distractions. So, you want to be a rock star, but drugs tempt you. Say 'Whatever', ignore the drugs and shred with your guitar, or rip it up with the drums.
Note: Chris Benoit is lucky to have this theme song. It clearly shows his dedication to the business. |

My Immortal: definitely one of the best. I can compare my relationshio to a friend with this. She's kinda like my therapist/person that always helps me out, hence the line, "When you cry I wipe away all your tears. When you scream I fight away all your fears." |

Miles Apart, hands down, is the best Yellowcard song I have ever heard. Good music and lyrics that have greatly helped me. I am an immigrant from the Philippines and hearing a song about being together in some way while being away from each other nearly made me cry. This is definitely the best song Yellowcard has whipped out of their creative minds. |

Blink-182 – Not Now Lyrics

Hearing that 'God has a master plan' touched me. Most of blink 182's songs are about women and things related to it and I feel really touched to hear that there is this awakening within the band to write a song about death. Too bad they released it when they are in an indefinite hiatus, so we couldn't really hear them perform a kick a** song live. |

Yellowcard – Only One Lyrics
|
'Only One' is one of the songs that has and always identify Yellowcard. I'm guessing if you mention Yellowcard, one of the few things that pops in your mind first is Only One. It's about admitting that you screwed up and you want to fix things. It takes a man to admit that he mas made a mistake, you know. I always think of a video in my head about me and a friend (same 'I screwed up' situation), with a few fight scenes between me and her boyfriend (which I am waiting to happen), and some scenes with me taking a punch to avoid getting her hit, etc. The video on my head is more about friendship, though. Still, Yellowcard does it again with Only One. |
