U2 – The First Time Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This song to me is related to the holy trinity, a very beautiful song. Lover=Holy Spirit, Brother=Jesus, Father=Holy Father. It's just a beautiful way of reflecting on the trinity, with the different gifts of the different members of it, and the final reminder of what the Father is trying to give and how apt we are to refuse it. |

I love this song, this song cemented my opinion of Jakob Dylan as an excellent song-writer. I have no idea what it means *lol*, but there are a few lines that really stick with me "Think I'm a whore, I'm an educated virgin. & I could be the one to be your next best friend You may need someone to hold you & But you never saw my best scene The one where I sleep Sleepwalk into your dreams & Now, sleepwalker, what's my line It's only a matter of time Until I learn to open up my eyes When I'm dead asleep dreamin' *awesome* |
Gabrielle – Out Of Reach Lyrics | 22 years ago |
This is beautiful, she's been thrown aside by a lover and now she wonders if she was even loved by him at any point or whether it was all just a cleaver act. But it's also so hopeful at the end. BEAUTIFUL |
Michelle Branch – Leap Of Faith Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Michelle Branch is one of the most telented young singers I have heard in a long time! I really enjoy this song! I am divided about this song, it's clear from the beginning "one less call to answer" that it's talking about the end of a relationship. But then I believe it would be one of two things. Either it's talking about another person, a friend, who she turns to in her time of need after the end of the relationship, perhaps a close friend. Who she can depend on. On the other hand it could also be the rebirth of the same relationship that had fallen apart in the early lines. That would be the untimate leap of faith, trusting enough to start over with someone, believing that they still care despite what has been said during the end of the relationship. She's remembering that they said "I could trust in you," which is bittersweet. Obviously she thought that she could trust him before and now it is really a leap of faith to reaffirm that trust which has been broken. I'm really undecided though! |
Nelly Furtado – I'm Like A Bird Lyrics | 22 years ago |
I think the key to this whole song is "I'm just scared That we may fall through". It may seem like she's strong, willing to give up something that she loves, it may seem like she's free. But really her whole desire to flee is born out of fear, fear that if she stays then she will be let down and hurt. And in that way "[his] faith in me brings [her] to tears" because she can't match it. It's like a constant reminder that she hasn't opened herself up fully "That you don't know me that well". She knows that she loves him, but she's not willing to open herself up, for fear of being rejected perhaps not now but at some point. She knows that once the fear gets the better of her she will run. It's a beautiful song from a great artist. |
Michelle Branch – All You Wanted Lyrics | 22 years ago |
Excellent LittleCrys!!! What gets me the most is that she's saying she can be the one to save him, but in the same breath almost she's saying that she needs him to save her. It just seems like it's an relationship without emotional attachment. She craves it to be something more because she does genuinely love him, but to him it is more a matter perhaps of companionship. He wants someone who cares but maybe doesn't love him, while she needs someone who loves her. |
