| So I was watching this science show called Connections 3, and they were talking about semaphores, which are those tall poles with flags on either side, and in some past time they were used for communications in war. I thought that was so cool because I've been listening to this song for 4 or so years now, and I had no idea what the hell a semaphore was. Anyways, saying that, this song is probably about war. | |

This song is definately about Kate. I was looking for the lyrics because I couldn't understand what Bert was screaming after the instrumental part in the middle. I came across this site that said: K makes me ill makes me ill makes me makes me god K makes me ill god it makes me ill... and I listened to the song again. He definately says that. I'm thinking it's about his relationship with her, how he can remember how she tastes, how she looks (or how their situation appeared to be), and how she felt/made him feel. Maybe they had broken up when Bert was writing this. So "it's strange cause I feel the same" could be saying that he returns the negative feelings she said she had for him. |

I heard somewhere it's about Bert's ex who over dosed on meth (?) and killed their unborn baby. Maybe I have the wrong song? But it sort of makes sense, maybe a combined theme. It almost sounds like it could be either of them talking, or maybe a conversation or just her talking (Bert, fuck my ass) That BertxQuinn thing makes a lot more sense so I think I'm wrong.. |
