Madina Lake – Through The Pain Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Sorry, I meant: "And now I'm begging for help I know I can't GET" I missed a word. haha. |
Madina Lake – Through The Pain Lyrics | 15 years ago |
First of all... "Withdrawal's kicking in not a second too late." & "And now I'm begging for help I know I can't; I've gotta face this one alone." As for meaning, I guess it's kind of obvious. Given that he says something about getting high, and mentions withdrawal along with a lot of its symptoms... It's about drug addiction, and getting over it. Or making a parallel to the world overall by creating the whole drug addiction metaphor to convey a point about people in general... Really, the only way out of anything is "through the pain". I think that it's more about being addicted to like, prescription meds though... but I can't be sure. At least, it's about being addicted to whatever it is that he's taking to quiet the voices in his head that he references in "Welcome to Oblivion" and "Silent Voices Kill". The only thing I can't really be sure about is the line "Tomorrow I'll start again". It could mean that even after fighting with withdrawal, he's only going to go back to using whatever he's addicted to OR it could mean he's starting again as in living a new life without addiction. Either way... this is one of my favorites off of Attics. It's amazing. :) |
The Rasmus – Sail Away Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I don't really see it as moving on, at least not in a good way. How grateful to die To live once again Im fearless to fly And reach for the end The fact that he says he's reaching for the end makes me think he is actually going to die. He's fearless to fly because he feels that after death, he will be free. |
Cute Is What We Aim For – Time Lyrics | 15 years ago |
One thing I've always liked about this song is the first part of the first verse: "The roads are wrapped around your waist They lead me place to place I take trips from hip to hip In fact I've made a career out of it" The way I always interpreted this is like... The roads are wrapped around her waist, basically meaning that his world revolves around her; anywhere he goes, she's at its core. He's made a career out of this by writing about her in sex songs and love songs. Also... I love how the chorus contradicts itself... He needs her to cry, but it breaks his heart to see it. |
Between the Trees – Darlin' Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Also, this song really means a lot to me, because it sort of helped me admit something to myself. There's a guy who's one of my best friends, and I started liking him, but every time someone else would use the word "love" to describe how I felt I'd just deny it. But hearing this song during that time, I really identified with the lyrics... and I realized the more someone says they "can't" love someone else, the more it means that they do love them. |
Between the Trees – Darlin' Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I agree with pretty much everything that's been said... But I'd like to add that I think the fact that it ends with "Or at least I do not think I do" leaves the possibility open for him to love her in the future. |
The Academy Is... – Winter Passing Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I don't really have anything new to add to the meaning of this song; I think it's all pretty much been said. And I agree that, having heard it acoustic and live first, the single version doesn't sound like it evokes as much emotion... when you first start to listen to it. But I think that it builds as the song goes on, and even though it's not quite as raw as the acoustic version, the emotion is definitely still there. Something about the way he sings the word "closed" in the second verse really gets me. I don't know why, but to me it sounds like you hear sort of the pain of what he's feeling a lot in that one word. |
Pink – Ave Mary A Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Well first of all, Ave Maria is hail Mary, as in praying, so that's the first obvious connection. It's just, she's worried because the whole world is going crazy, and she doesn't know how to deal with it. And she thinks the world is already at its worst and is wondering if and when things will get better. She wants to be above the false treasures that the rest of the world holds dear. She needs her fears to be put at rest. On a random note, I love "If we don't kill each other, then the side effects will." It's perfect. =) |
Pink – Glitter In The Air Lyrics | 15 years ago |
It's about giving your heart to someone and learning to know and love them, and not knowing if they'll do the same. I love this song. It shows off her voice so well, and she really put her heart into it.. it's beautiful. Also I'm pretty sure it's "the thunder before the lightning and the breath before the phrase" to fill in the question marks =) |
Pink – So What Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I don't think it's boastful or narcissistic. Because it's about her way of trying to deal with it. She's trying to pass it off like, "so what? It's no big deal." When it obviously is. She's means it not as "I'M SO AWESOME" but as, "this is how I can keep moving on". Music is her real passion, and she's saying so what I'm still a rockstar because it means that she still has a way to move on with her life, and something else to live for. I think it's a pretty strong statement. |
The Used – Smother Me Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think it's kind of ridiculous to expect from the name that it would be like "Choke Me". Honestly, if it was like that song I would have been really disappointed. Think about it. Why would you have a song called "Smother Me" that was stylistically the same as a song called "Choke Me"? I think it's really clever to have two songs with such similar names be so different. |
The Maine – Whoever She Is Lyrics | 15 years ago |
Okay I thought of a better way to put it. Haha. "She" is what you live for. |
The Maine – Whoever She Is Lyrics | 15 years ago |
"She" to me is what makes you feel alive. That's why it could be something positive like your best friends or something that could be negative like a fear of the dark. It's what you need to survive in that it's what sort of gives you that jolt in your veins. Overall, though, I think that this song is about not taking things for granted. |
The Academy Is... – Summer Hair = Forever Young Lyrics | 15 years ago |
I think it's WITH summer girls with summer hair... unless William's saying they're all girls. Also, it's "STOP making plans, start making sense" ahh, but I love this song. I agree though, the meaning is pretty simple. I saw them play this song last night at Warped Tour. It was incredible. |
The Academy Is... – About a Girl Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think there are a lot of ways this could be interpreted... What I thought of it was this. There's a guy who loves this girl, and wants nothing more than to love someone that will love him back. But every time he feels like he's figured out what to say he loses confidence again, and in the end decides that he'd be wasting his time trying to win her, because he doesn't think she'll ever care about him the way he cares about her... so he tries to convince himself that he doesn't love her because he doesn't know what else to do. |
My Chemical Romance – The World Is Ugly Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Okay, Hide From The Sun, you are a total failure. They're not "selling out". They're not writing what they're writing because they think it's what people want to hear, and they certainly don't only fit the "emo" label. They write what they write because it means something to them. They put their hearts in it so that others can feel something from it too, and that's something they can never be faulted for. They have always been honest in everything. |
Motion City Soundtrack – The Conversation Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song just breaks my heart. My favorite line is, "So can you tell me if I'm crazy or confused?" He loves her, but he knows it isn't right. I can't listen to this song without crying. |
Fall Out Boy – Beat It (Michael Jackson cover) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
freaking awesome cover. i actually like it better than the original, which is impressive since Michael Jackson music is my guilty pleasure and this is one of my favorites of his. |
Tokio Hotel – Monsoon Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Oh and [random thought] at times, Tokio Hotel reminds me a little bit of Kill Hannah. |
Tokio Hotel – Monsoon Lyrics | 16 years ago |
This song is beautiful. To me, this song is describing unconditional love. It's like, I'll run through all the bad things to get to you, and when I get to you nothing else can hurt me. |
Head Automatica – The Razor Lyrics | 16 years ago |
sorry *she was right to be suspicious of him, not he was right to be suspicious of her, haha. |
Head Automatica – The Razor Lyrics | 16 years ago |
Overall, I think that the song is saying "don't make me seem better than I am." For example: "this is television, late nite television, scripted with precision, a corner store pulp fiction, sits where your heart isn't." This means something like everything he says is fake and scripted, and not what he's really thinking. "but with your eyes so green, and your pinkish theme, you've made an old friend seem rather dead to me. alas the weapon sex can be." Basically that he knows the person's using sex as a "weapon" against him or whatever, and doesn't care because, well, he likes it =P "dont say i don't cut when i do, i do, i do (i do, i do)" Don't say that I don't hurt people because I know I do. "dont say im lying when im true, im true, im true (i do, i do)" Don't say that I'm lying about hurting people, because I'm not. "you were all suspicious, so vile and omnicious with a heart so vicious. dare you ask what this is. this is so delicious to eat the best of you like the others do. we take your pride from you driving the embassy; the chance is all the same to me" Basically saying that he was right to be suspicious of her, and that he knows he's hurting/using her, but it doesn't really matter to him; he wants to care but finds that he can't. "don't say we're healing when it's just not what we do" Don't say that I'm helping you, because we both know that's not true. "i am the razor in the hands of your heart" Because of the fact that you love me and think I'm so great, I hurt you more. "and i am the razor in the hands of god" Like I said, I think he's just tired of someone saying that he's so great, when he thinks/knows that he's not. |
The Used – Pain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
I think I've got it now... I dunno if this is right but when I listen to the song it sounds to me like the chorus says: "Pain. It pains me just to see you with him. Rather be lost in the river without you. Pain, pain, pain. Shame. Of what you are and what you've been. It must be hard living, dying in your shoes. Shame, shame, shame." |
The Used – Pain Lyrics | 16 years ago |
i thought it was "rather be lost in a river without you", but that may just be me... i love it regardless =) |
The Academy Is... – Sleeping with Giants (Lifetime) Lyrics | 16 years ago |
The beauty of William's lyrics is the fact that there are so many interpretations. I'd always thought of it the way badluckgirl said, but what adriann__ said makes perfect sense as well. I don't think either is right or wrong...I think that maybe he means for it to be able to mean a lot of of different things, but maybe that's just me. |
The Rocket Summer – Do You Feel Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I agree with the last comment, but I think in addition it's not just that everyone ignores the big problems; it's that everyone is so wrapped up in their own problems [is it just not real 'cause you got your own things] and trying to solve them by whatever means [have the habits had you], so that we become self obsessed and don't try to fix the big picture. |
Plain White T's – Figure It Out Lyrics | 17 years ago |
and "it" in that sense would be referring to what he wants to do about it. |
Plain White T's – Figure It Out Lyrics | 17 years ago |
wow i screwed up that last sentence...i meant to say "he'll figure it out as soon as he figures out why she keeps doing this to him." ^_^ |
Plain White T's – Figure It Out Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i love this song. my shot at what it means would be basically the guy keeps screwing up and after she's accused him of messing up so much, he just starts to not care anymore, and he's kind of bitter but also kind of confused as to what he wants- "i'll figure it out as soon as i figure it out." like, she'll figure it out as soon i figure out why she keeps doing this to him. |
The Used – The Bird and the Worm Lyrics | 17 years ago |
And as for the meaning...I basically agree with what everyone has said about it...^_^ |
The Used – The Bird and the Worm Lyrics | 17 years ago |
THIS. SONG. IS. FUCKING. AMAZING. |
The Used – Handsome Awkward Lyrics | 17 years ago |
It's obvious what the song is about; that doesn't need to be said. And I agree that it's not good to hate the song just because of what it's about...But nobody can deny that it's a tad "immature" of them. But. I love the song anyway. |
The Medic Droid – Fer Sure Lyrics | 17 years ago |
My friend made me listen to this song when I went to her house a couple days ago and it's been stuck in my head ever since. I definitely have to agree that it's making fun of the whole scene things. |
The Used – Handsome Awkward Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Unless he's just being a jirk. But I'm supremely hoping that he wouldn't sink that low. |
The Used – Handsome Awkward Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I don't think it's really meant to seek attention, although Bert's comment was rather... obnoxious. Bands are always writing about the stuff that is hurting them or has hurt them and I really don't find it very surprising that a song was written about the whole Bert/Gerard feud. Not that I mean it's necessarily still hurting Bert...But why else write the song? |
The Used – Under Pressure (with My Chemical Romance) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Okay. Now that that's done with... I'm in love with this song. Both versions of it. I don't know if either is really better or worse... They're pretty different; it's hard to compare them. Either way, they're both incredible. I kinda wish Gerard and Bert would "give love one more chance". Not in a perverted way, ^_^. It just makes me sad how they don't get along anymore. |
The Used – Under Pressure (with My Chemical Romance) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Horrible? ... Excuse me for a minute while I laugh at your stupidity. |
Fall Out Boy – I'm Like a Lawyer with the Way I'm Always Trying to Get You Off (Me and You) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I don't think this song is "weak"er than anything I've heard off the album. I think it's pretty different for them, but I like it. I think the lyrics are great, as is the meaning behind them (which I think is pretty much a combination of what everyone's said ^_^). Also..I love his voice in this song. I mean, I've always loved it, but something about it in this song is just like...especially amazing. |
(+44) – Chapter 13 Lyrics | 17 years ago |
frozenphoenix said exactly what I thought of when I was listening to this song, but I didn't know that's what it was about. I thought I was just crazy. ^_^ I love this song. It's lyrically and structurally incredible, and Mark's voice is fucking beautiful. |
Fall Out Boy – Thriller Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I'm not hearing the "cry". But then again, it's hard to tell. I'm surprised nobody's done the lyrics for "I'm Like A Lawyer..." yet. I'd take on that job, but I can't get all of them. Somebody should start a group effort to figure that one out as well ^_^ |
Fall Out Boy – The Take Over, the Breaks Over Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I had no idea what he said in that part at first. That's why I came here ^_^ Plus, there's nothing wrong with being a weirdo. Weirdos rock! ^.^ |
Fall Out Boy – The Take Over, the Breaks Over Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I had no idea what he said in that part at first. That's why I came here ^_^ Plus, there's nothing wrong with being a weirdo. Weirdos rock! ^.^ |
Fall Out Boy – The Take Over, the Breaks Over Lyrics | 17 years ago |
GAH. i can't wait for the new album. this song is so great it makes me want to run around in circles and scream like a little girl. but i'll restrain myself. |
Fall Out Boy – Thriller Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I definitely think it sounds more like "Lie on the couch 'til the poets come to life", but maybe that's just me. And I think it makes a little more sense that way, especially coming right after "Long live the car crash heart"... They say long live the car crash heart because it provides them with inspiration, and lie on the couch til the poets come to life because it's waiting for the poet (lyricist) inside to surface so they can write again. Well, that's what I think anyway. But maybe I'm completely wrong. Either way, I love the sound of this song; his voice sounds amazing... |
Good Charlotte – The River Lyrics | 17 years ago |
oh wait. i think it's "dead come back to life" not "dead come back tonight". okay. i'll shut up now; i promise. i'm probably not right anyway ^_^ |
Good Charlotte – The River Lyrics | 17 years ago |
i think it's "the valley of the shadow of LA". and then "i've DONE enough now to know this beautiful place isn't everything they say" other than that it's good. i love this song. i think it's really interesting that they chose to focus a song on their faith so much as that's something they don't usually do. i like the message though, and i can completely identify with "i done a lot of things wrong but i swear i'm a believer"...i love it. |
30 Seconds to Mars – Battle of One Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I think that the meaning of this song is really up for the individual to interpret. There are so many different possibilities for what it could mean. As for me, when I hear it, I think of martyrdom. |
Fall Out Boy – This Ain't a Scene, It's an Arms Race Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I really don't think this is ALL that different from their old stuff. And who cares, it's still Fall Out Boy. ANYWAY. If you don't like it just because it's different, shove it up your ass, no one wants to hear it. Don't bother commenting on things you don't like; it wastes everyone's time and it's just going to spark arguments [[kind of like this]]. Nobody's going to like every song they hear; what's the point of going and starting something like this? Just to get debate and disagreement? POINTLESS. Personally, I love this song. I think it's amazing. It is a little poppy, but it's still a good song. Besides, no offense to a lot of pop music fans, but I'm not sure that half of them even know what the word intricate means. I have a feeling they might end up claiming to like it, but have no idea of what the song actually means. |
My Chemical Romance – Famous Last Words Lyrics | 17 years ago |
I heard this song for the first time today and I'm in lovvve with it. 5 more days. ^_^ |
My Chemical Romance – Welcome To The Black Parade Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Okay. Think about it. How much sense does "You're a chair for all the broken" make?? I always heard it as "Give a cheer for all the broken", and to me that makes about a billion times more sense. |
