Ted Leo and the Pharmacists – The Anointed One Lyrics

Any thoughts on the possibility of this song being about Jesus and Christianity??? "Father's Favorite Son..."???
I think that this song is about God and the problems that people have with God... (i.e. all the poor and hungry in the world) ("In the capitol, with your freezer full...")
Or George Bush... I can see that... George Bush would like to think he is the Christ! What an asshole! |

22-20s – Shoot Your Gun Lyrics

I am new to the 22-20's, but I really like this song. "Where you learn to shoot your gun so straight?..." A line that we can all relate to in a world where there are many ruthless money hungry people. *See also: George Bush |

Catherine Wheel – Black Metallic Lyrics

This is my favorite Catherine Wheel song. I'm not so sure about the meaning. At first I believed that this song was about all of the bigots in the world, telling everybody "come on its the only the color of your skin." |

Radiohead – The Amazing Sounds of Orgy Lyrics

I think that this song is about damagedyouth or some other asshole just like him who needs drugs to cope with the reality of the world. Someday these people could be running the country. Hell, one of them is running the country now. When these assholes take over this apocalypse will happen and Radiohead will be all we have to hang on to. |

Yeah... I think that it is about Homosexuality, as well as doing things that the "Moral Majority" percieves as sinful and wrong. |

Goldfinger – 99 Red Balloons Lyrics
|
99 dreams I have had
In every one a red balloon
It's all over and I'm standin' pretty
In the dust that was a city
If I could find a souvenier
Just to prove the world was here...
And here it is, a red balloon
I think of you and let it go.
this part clearly shows that even the only souvenier left in the entire world to show that a civilised world once existed was absolutely nothing in comparison to the feelings that the singer felt and had/has for his lover, thus, he lets it go in remembrance of his love (said "love" could symbolize a single person, whole society, or even the destroyed masses described earlier in the song) |
