i view this song as a long distance relationship, or at least that's what it means to me. "stay until you're sure that i'm asleep" [not wanting the lover to leave] "Just wait until tomorrow Bury me in sorrow Cover me in joy" [the lover leaving, and the person having to deal with different emotions after they're gone] "Every afternoon i wasted being mad at You The things I never said The things I can't say tomorrow" [wasting time before the person leaves and than realizing that they may not come back for a long time] "I'll have an eternity to think about tomorrow" [maybe as in i'll have an eternity to think about you not being there?] it's a stretch, but that's my perception. |

i don't think it has to do with a murder necessarily.. it reminds me more of a newspaper clipping i found once about how this girl had a birthday party when she was in her teens, and these boys were invited to her party and raped her while the party was going on: I think my friend said, "Don't forget the video." I think my friend said, " Don't forget to smile." "You're a murder tramp, murder tramp", I think he said "You're a murder boy, birthday boy", I think I said Murder could mean as in murdering innocence. |

in my opinion, regina spektor doesn't have as much fame as the dresden dolls and her music is far and from them. The dresden doll's music isn't half bad...it's their [and everyone elses] cockiness about it that gets in the way. but anyways, back to the song, this song and video is so beautiful. It's one of her best on the new c.d. I can't wait for the dvd! |
