You know what this song reminds me of? Gone With the Wind. Can you not see Rhett Butler singing this to Scarlett O'Hara? It describes their relationship perfectly.
"Like a waiter hating the rich
But taking their tips"
Scarlett hated Rhett, but went to use him every time she needed something, and he would gladly do it.
And of course, the famous line, "My dear, I don't give a damn."
Rhett is quite the villain, too. And he loved Scarlett, and wanted to laugh with her and be happy with her, but she preferred her own misery and serious hardworking life.
And he does say "see you later" a few times.
Right or wrong, this is what I'll always think about when I hear this song. |

"The Black Box" is what psychologists refer to as the mind. It is what is in between a stimulus and response. Maybe their black box is giving them ideas, and they're being told it's lying, ie. everything they think is wrong. Or, it could refer to the black box in a plane... just a thought. |

Anyone have any idea what this line means? "Fess it up, dot on the palm of your hand." All I can think of is that maybe it's alluding to the dot scars on the palms of Christ's hands... although I can't really see how that would fit into this song. |

Lost zero, i think you're right. When he says "yesterday the sky was you" he means that yesterday (ie. before they broke up), his sky (ie. everything surrounding him, all he could see wherever he went) was her. That line has a lot of meaning for me, whether I misinterpreted it or not. |

This song means that some guy is doing crack and some guy is using an empty whiskey flask as a walkie talkie because he's high on something, and he can't stop saying the word "today" because he has a hard time stringing together coherent sentences because he's had one snort too many. I'm pretty sure all of Underworld's stuff written from the perspective of a crackhead, but their music is awesome. |

I think Skye is singing about being separated from the man she loves- 3 months in here, etc. She says their love is all that stands now, which I think means that they don't have anything else- no communication, no physical contact- so if anything makes them hold on, if anything is left, it is their love. She says the streets feel strange, just look at my face, knee-deep in blood... I've been apart from the one I love now for almost 4 months and I still have another 8 more to go, and the streets do feel strange, I feel out of place, and knee-deep in blood. She's right when she says she's "mad to love you, and your evil curse". It can be like a curse when you love someone so much but can't see them or talk to them... |

I think he says "I'm just a country boy", not "A jumped-up pantry boy". It makes more sense, but I could be wrong. It really does sound like he says
"jumped-up", though. |
