This is one of my least favorites on the album, actually. Which isn't to say it's bad.. just doesn't stand out to me. The beginning sounds like a rock-out part of a muse song. Overall, I like it. The lyrics are pretty neat from what I can tell. |

Anyone else hear the new version of this yet? It's pretty sick. I love how fob keep it real. Like they have all this success but still don't forget their roots. Like the drummer was on mtv the other day with a 7 angels 7 plagues hoodie. And there's definitely a breakdown at the end of the electric version of this song, just tacked on. And pete mentioned his dogs circle pitting to hatebreed on the q and a of their site one time. it's just so cool how they are hardcore kids making pop punk for the masses, but still staying down with the scene. Even if I could take or leave their fuct era material, I still really dig their older stuff. Eh, I'm just rambling now.. |

if you happen to read this, DarkerShadeofWinter... when he signed that setlist for you, was it in 2003. Or was it already 2004? If it was 04, I'm thinking 03 is the year that Aaron really surrendered himself to Christ. And what 1979-2003 means is just... like... his selfish desires and whatnot. There's a lot of scripture that talks about being crucified with Christ, and no longer living, but letting Christ live in you. So... yeah, that's just a random observation... perhaps I'll post an interpretation of this song a little later. |

About the whole working for a paycheck as opposed to winning the lottery thing.. To me, I interpreted it like this: In the rest of the song, he seems to be describing a relationship on the brink. "So if you want to be with me With these things there's no telling we'll just have to wait and see" It hasn't really developed totally... not yet at least. There's definitely affection there, the rest of the song does well in expressing that, but I think that those last lines are talking about him rather putting effort into creating the relationship, and have it be sincere (working for the paycheck, the paycheck being finally having the relationship bloom) than just letting things happen, which is less likely (winning the lottery) |

From what I can gather, this song is about receiving solace and consolation from life's rough spots through the pain of Jesus Christ. His blood poured out for us. It's about how he struggles to keep this fact in mind while maintaining a relationship with a woman, and asking for mercy once he comes to the realization anew. |
