I did these lyrics from ear, they may not be 100% correct - particularly the line-- "special ones walk on without sound" I'll edit it when I know the proper lyrics. I love the song. I don't know if anyone else feels like this but to me it seems like a "whiny" song, like, that's the intention, just to whine, and it sounds frickin awesome. That would tie in with OBTN's theory! |

Late reply, but anyway.. the lyrics were posted from ear only, and after time I too think it is "trend", still not sure about "all the signs said tonight", though I know what I wrote is not right! It's a great song, having heard just about all of his songs, including rares and b-sides, and not just because of the rumour Scarlett Johansson did backing in it! :) |

Love this song. When listening to the Nightcrawler previews this, apart from Alive, grabbed me.. it's very Strokes-y, while maintaining his Pete-ness. I'm not sure of the actual meaning of the song but a lot of his songs seem to depend more on the feel than the lyrics, for me this song sums up Nightcrawler - definitely more rocky, still very much Pete, just an extension. |

| I had the same feeling as 'reinacoes' but I think I'm actually gradually liking both versions as seperate songs. Well, appreciating them, because I love them both. As a UK fan listening to the song the first time I heard it was on LFNJ, although Pete refers to it as being a slow song on that, I never thought it would be put on his next cd. I must say I love the slow version having got used to it, the guitar riff at the end just completely rounds up the album so beautifully, for me. It's a measure of the mans talent that he can write a song so poetic that sounds amazing in two different tempos. | |
