Halifax – Our Revolution Lyrics | 16 years ago |
He says "Kill that WOUNDED soldier". Basically means "Finish that drink". |
A Change of Pace – How To Rape A Country Lyrics | 17 years ago |
All of this CD's songs are messed up on this site: The beat of war reigns on Can you hear the sound of marching drums? Bullets fill the sky Men kill to show their nation's pride The smell of death and blood Hold memories of your loved ones close, Find hope in pain, my friend, Brothers in arms until the end. Slumber sweet with dreams of home, Hand in hand, don't march alone. We've got a thirst for your blood It's pumping through our veins Wait till the moment's right, Show no mercy What do we have to fear? Lock stock let's blow them all away Then hide yourself in sleep Hopeful they'll take you in the night, Eyes bloodshot red and straining, You'll see the ghost inside their eyes A country left in tears Watching their flag burn and die. Slumber sweet with dreams of home, Hand in hand, don't march alone. We've got a thirst for your blood It's pumping through our veins Wait till the moment's right, Show no mercy Dreams of home We've got a thirst for your blood (We've got a thirst for your blood) Wait till the moment's right, Show no mercy We've got a thirst for your blood It's pumping through our veins Wait till the moment's right, Show no mercy |
A Change of Pace – Prepare The Masses Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Urgh, this is really off... Prepare the masses, cause this means war And if it's a fight they want, we'll bring the hell they're looking for With bullets blazing, the cowards hit the floor Stand up and fight like men, let God decide who's coming Now sit back and watch this story unfold With the fair Juliet and her Romeo Two young lovers with one heartbeat In a devoted grave is where they'll sleep They are the passion in a city of hate Watching two families quarrel ruining lover's fate, You are the ones that took your children's lives See your two martyrs dying in love's true light Sing me to sleep tonight, sweet Juliet Two star-crossed lovers marry looking for regrets By daybreak I'll be gone and searching for your kiss Leave me a drop of poison waiting on your lips In every war there will be casualties Even family members and best friends bleed Another tally on the body count So how many more until we're all bled out? Let's not forget about this tale of love Replay the story as it's told to us Life is precious but worth giving away For ideals of beauty and better days Sing me to sleep tonight, sweet Juliet Two star-crossed lovers marry looking for regrets By daybreak I'll be gone and searching for your kiss Leave me a drop of poison waiting on your lips I'm killing cousins, revenge I seek In fair Verona, I will lay him down, down to sleep In desperation, poison becomes This story's ending in a tomb of lover's trust Sing me to sleep tonight, sweet Juliet Two star-crossed lovers marry looking for regrets By daybreak I'll be gone and searching for your kiss Leave me a drop of poison waiting on your lips |
Drist – The Scalpel Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Not positive on the second line, I got the CD from a friend so I don't have the lyrics booklet and his voice is a bit difficult to figure out. |
Anberlin – (*Fin) Lyrics | 17 years ago |
You know how to get a good version of the song? Buy the CD. There's no way to be disappointed. And to be more specific... 8:56. The last part with the choir is haunting. |
Made in Mexico – Yes We Can Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Because it's bad? |
Jack's Mannequin – Dark Blue Lyrics | 17 years ago |
"Dark Blue" was the last song recorded for the CD. With the lines meshing in the verses and the choruses repeating, it is a catchy love song about the months McMahon and his fiancée spent separated from one another. That was taken from an interview with Andrew McMahon. I got the initial impression the song was about one person's doubt in a relationship and the other person (McMahon) was trying to reassure them that even though they feel alone, he would stay by her side through anything. As for the line "What could you possibly expect under this condition?" does not refer to his cancer as far as I'm concerned. I think the "condition" is the physical separation and as much as he'd like to do something about it, it's not entirely in his control. And for the title itself, he says "This night's a perfect shade of...Dark blue" What makes you feel more alone than staring up into the sky just after the sun has set? You look out at the sky and realize how insignificant you really are in proportion to the rest of the universe. Oh and I did think the video was very creative. |
Atreyu – Shameful Lyrics | 17 years ago |
If you listen to the VERY last time he says it, right at the end of the song, he says "death of an old AND...." Since he doesn't say "start over" you can hear the and more clearly (in particular the sound of the d as he closes.) I'm 100% sure it's "We'll birth a new day with the death of an old and start over." Despite the mistaken lyrics it's still roughly the same. He feels more than a bit slighted by a girl (or friend) and is clearly upset at them. The lyrics are well done because it could be said in a much simpler fashion, but this paints a good picture. |
A Change of Pace – War In Your Bedroom Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Just a quick comment I'm pretty sure he's saying Sex is everywhere, Sex is everything. |
Hit the Lights – Until we get Caught Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Our backs against the wall means that they are cornered or trapped. |
Yellowcard – Ocean Avenue Lyrics | 17 years ago |
Bro...you're 14. What would you even know about Metallica, Kiss or music from the 50s? Your eloquent description was enough to give away that you're not very mature even without looking at your profile. I'm glad 14 year olds (and younger) think it instantly makes them cool to like classic rock nowadays. Newsflash: You're still lameass. You've never been to a Kiss concert. You can't even spell Metallica right. Please go back to your other popped collar friends discuss how cool you are to be trendy. Thanks. |
Acceptance – Seeing Is Believing Lyrics | 17 years ago |
There are quite a few mistakes...here are the real lyrics: Time winds down as you stretch upward to heaven His blood resounds as it's not over, precursor They'll paint them red, those things you said. They'll paint them red, what you said. I miss you. I miss you And I miss you I need you. I need you And I need you more Can see you. I see you Can I see you now? I want to defend as I hold you so closely to me. to me. You speak of peace. well how can that be. surround me I can't believe the pain received and I can't believe what you said I miss you. I miss you And I miss you I need you. I need you And I need you more Can see you. I see you Can I see you now? And I felt it. you're not fading I felt it. I'm not fading I felt it. you're not fading I felt it. I felt it I miss you. I miss you And I miss you I need you. I need you And I need you more Can see you. I see you Can I see you now? It seems like it would be about a relationship with God. The first verse seems to be kind of an intro. Like he's saying..well this is what you said. This was your word (the bible). The second verse maybe questioning God. Talks about the pain he's received and how through all that pain it's hard to believe. But in the chorus he seems to come around. He misses God and he wants the relationship back in his life. The part about 'not fading' seems that he realizes that God is never going to abandon him and that he's not going to give up on him either. Great song, definitely one of my favorite bands. |
Limp Bizkit – Counterfeit Lyrics | 18 years ago |
You say you didn't "fucking saw" (which in itself is mindboggling enough) any meanings of this song, yet at the end of your comment you acknowledge that some other people said the same thing you said. Can you get your story straight please? Furthermore did you not just copycat them which is something else you spoke out against? Congrats, you apparently lack a brain. Basically, King Nothing nailed it. Just be yourself, it's pretty straightforward. |
Bullet for My Valentine – Suffocating Under Words of Sorrow (What Can I Do) Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It's a rather common figure of speech to say you're intoxicated by something. That basically is just meaning that you are entranced or not yourself because you are in awe. He is intoxicated by her. He doesn't want to fall into the cycle of lust, but she compells him to. |

Lostprophets – Everyday Combat Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I was curious so.... http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=DMZ De-Militarized Zone. Sounds fairly fitting in a sarcastic sort of way. At least how Ian is using it in the song. |
Lostprophets – Everybody's Screaming!!! Lyrics | 18 years ago |
At points during this CD, I just can't shake the feeling Ian Watkins sounds just like Tyson Ritter of All American Rejects. I guess I don't mean it in a bad way. It's just one the first thoughts that popped into my mind. I agree Venom. It's fairly straightforward. |
Lostprophets – Everyday Combat Lyrics | 18 years ago |
It is DMZ (in the booklet) and what I think he's talking about is just the bar hopping scene in general. He says "nobody really cares, but it's not for me". So he's saying that this isn't what he likes to do, because this is how it is. But no one really cares because there are lots of people who WILL go out at night. He's just one person against the crowd. |
Papa Roach – Not Listening Lyrics | 18 years ago |
My point (over a year ago now) was that it was Analysis. Not analyzation. Or analysation. But it is unimportant. |
Hawthorne Heights – This Is Who We Are Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Forgiven because you apologized. Even though it's two months later. |
The Click Five – Good Day Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Now I’m going strong on Lexapro Doctor says I’m doing fine Told them that I need sometime These lines are in opposite order. Other than that, good song. Catchy and pretty self explanatory. |
Anberlin – Foreign Language Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Well I think it's pretty straightforward. It can be taken either on a personal level or a society level. In one way he is talking about a personal relationship where two people are having trouble communicating. But if you take the broader concept, it could be the divide in society between men and women. We may as well be speaking foreign languages to each other sometimes, because men don't always understand women and vice versa. |
Hawthorne Heights – This Is Who We Are Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I agree pretty much with punkkid, like the music or not because you want to, not because it's on some channel. Just a few quick edits *Lies the danger and the safety NOT Lies the dead you and the safety *One voice lacks emotion now NOT One voice lets emotion out *Instead of flowers like words THAT never mattered (not they) *Close it OFF forget about the sadness (not up) *He always said she should have TRIED crying (not stop) *Blaming him as she was lying down NOT But he knew at least she was lying down And at the end he's saying "Not coming back" not "I'm coming back" Those changes are straight from the CD Jacket. (ok so there were more than few) |
Disturbed – Pain Redefined Lyrics | 18 years ago |
I believe that David Draiman is Jewish, I have heard that somewhere before but I am not positive. |
Papa Roach – Not Listening Lyrics | 18 years ago |
Analysation? |
Disturbed – Ten Thousand Fists Lyrics | 19 years ago |
This song is excellent, their best since the The Sickness CD. I think its about being at a concert and feeling the energy. All the lyrics just seem to steer it that way. And not to be picky but its Survival, not Survial. |
Yellowcard – Ocean Avenue Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I'm gonna start off by saying I enjoy Yellowcard, and this song. After saying that I have about 50 percent of this board's attention and the other half hates me but anyway. I don't have a problem with people not liking Yellowcard or any other band simply because they don't like their music. That's fine, you don't like it and everyone is entitled to their own tastes. My main problem with this stems from two scenarios. First is people who bash others for their musical taste. Not to say you should be confined to the boards of the bands you like, but if you're going to say something negative about a band, it could at least be more intelligent than "This band sucks, if you like them you are a pussy." Now I know this doesn't apply to everyone on this board who doesn't like Yellowcard. Second of all, it is irritating when people say they used to love a band until they got popular. Someone said it earlier, you should be excited for the band! Are you only friends with people who are unpopular and if they get popular you instantly discard them? I bet not. Being popular does not make a band instantly suck. MTV, yeah it sucks. So don't watch it. You don't watch, and you listen to what you want cause you like it not cause you were told to. No one should make anyone else feel ashamed cause they like a band or not. I'm not gonna be ashamed to like Yellowcard, I enjoy the music and if you don't that's your opinion. |
Taking Back Sunday – Cute Without The 'E' (Cut From The Team) Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Oldskoolrocker, did you just come on here and say that TBS looks like a bunch of queers and then reference a band that has a gay lead singer (Iron Maiden)? Talk about a double standard. Just cause its music you like makes it alright for him to be "queer" as I'm sure that was the meaning that you had intended. And what of their sexual orientation? Does it mean that because they do not have the same preference as you that their music is inferior? As for TBS, absolutely brilliant music and lyrics. I like this CD better than their new CD but they are both good. As for this song, I mean everything has already been said. Lookin forward to more good stuff in the future. |
Louis XIV – Finding Out True Love Is Blind Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I've had to listen to this song countless times (anybody who has played MVP Baseball 2005, as it is on the soundtrack, knows what I mean). I really don't like this song a lot. The sound to me is just blech. I agree definitely with the Queen influence, but Queen was original and excellent. It just seems to me that they are trying to hard. I mean, I'm not gonna come on to a board of a band I don't like and just say "omg this band sucks". I know I don't like that for my favorite bands. I just want to give my honest opinion on here. The lyrics to me just sound sexist. I know there have been mentions of sarcasm and such but I think that the lyrical combination with the music just produces an overly sexual tone. If you are trying to get people to view your lyrics as a sarcastic hit on society shouldn't there be some sort of metaphorical comparison? Instead it just sounds straight up like another womanizing song. The Variable, I definitely see where you get that point, however shouldn't "True Love" be about love and not lust? I don't get that vibe from the song. I've had to listen to this song enough that I was just thinking all this and I figured I would run it by some others who obviously have heard the song and have an opinion. (And one final thing, it isn't that I don't like the song cause I've heard it too much, I really didn't like the song much from the get go, and the repetition has not made it grow on me.) |
Hawthorne Heights – Wake Up Call Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I will agree on one thing here with everyone, yes the guitar is fantastic. Definitely one of, if not my favorite song on the CD. Yeah the lyrics may be a tad bit cliche but oh well. Pretty much everything has been written about at some point or another right? So I think the focus here should be the presentation of the lyrics which is the music, and the music is extremely good. And one last note, Dangerousbagel you are speaking about MTVmo kids and "their bands". You have Blink 182 as one of your favorite bands. You have officially lost all right to talk about cliched and repetitive lyrics. (Not to say I don't like Blink, cause I do but I just CAN'T see how you can call another bands lyrics unoriginal when pretty much every Blink song deals with girls or youth.) Hah, and while I'm on it you don't MAKE lyrics. You WRITE them. Way to MAKE a proper sentence. About the meaning, yeah Riseup I think you hit it pretty good. Excellent meaning as a lot of people have a fear like this. |
Gorillaz – Feel Good Inc. Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Great song, I didn't like the first album too much but hopefully this will be better. Also, swheeler that's a great thought and an excellent point. |
Dashboard Confessional – A Plain Morning Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Reason to post if you have nothing constructive to say? We all like the song and you do not, good for you, don't waste space/time. Anyway, yeah I agree with everyone else that this is Chris' best song. I can't think of anyone who can shape words better and convey them so well. |
TRUSTCompany – The War is Over Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I love this song, and this CD is well worth the pickup especially if you liked the first CD. This song itself seems about a breakup. I think the "war" he is referring to is the relationship. Overall it's not terribly deep, but it doesn't have to be to kick ass. |
Tupac Shakur – Changes Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Are you really that ignorant? Do you not understand that they are not playing a 'card'? I am white, but I know that racism exists and if you can't see that then you are very naive. The reason groups of people get portrayed a certain way is because people like you set stereotypes. You call others 'animals' and 'idiots'. The reason there is racism in the world is people like you don't give anyone a chance. You perpetuate and create stereotypes and then act like everyone who doesn't agree is inferior. Maybe you should stop feeding your ego and open up your eyes to the world around you. On a musical note, great beat, brilliant lyrics and message. |
TRUSTCompany – Stronger Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Why haven't I purchased this CD yet...I liked surfacing but I sort of forgot about the CD til i heard this on the radio today. Amazing. |
3 Doors Down – It's Not Me Lyrics | 19 years ago |
There are some minor errors in this, including the omission of a line or two. Not trying to knock the person or anything like that. Anyway, I think it's about someone finally summoning up enough courage to say enough is enough and confront the person that has been tormenting them for years. I think this CD in general has been a great leap lyrically at least for 3DD. I'm not saying that the other CD's are bad, far from it actually. If you don't have the CD yet, it is well worth the buy. |
3 Doors Down – Right Where I Belong Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Actually after one more look, I have it backwards. She is saying it (the chorus) to him. My bad. |
3 Doors Down – Right Where I Belong Lyrics | 19 years ago |
What an amazing track to lead off this CD with. I think its about a troubled relationship and he sometimes wonders why he keeps trying. In the end, however, he knows that he is wrong and apologizes (I get distracted and get carried away) cause he knows that she is the one for him. |
Mesh StL – Maybe Tomorrow Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I forgot about this song for so long. I heard it on the radio like 4 years ago. I remember cause it was one of my favorite songs my first year of high school. These guys are really solid, and they deserve more widespread respect than they get. |
OK Go – Get Over It Lyrics | 19 years ago |
About that comment about a football stadium. It would appear they achieved their goal very well cause the song made it to the Madden 2003 soundtrack. Though I don't know exactly how it relates to football it is a great song. |
3 Doors Down – Let Me Go Lyrics | 19 years ago |
i should say if the rest of the CD is as good as this song. |
3 Doors Down – Let Me Go Lyrics | 19 years ago |
If this song is as good as the rest of the CD, I can't wait to get it next year. |
The Used – Listening Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Wow i read that Evanescence thing RIGHT as i was listening to that part in the song. I was thinking "wtf do they mean". I heard it and was like OHHHHHH lol. Great song. |
Eminem – Mosh Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I know not everyone down in the south doesn't learn that stuff, but some of the more deeply religious areas refuse to allow it to be learned. That point aside, yes I respect that Bush didn't decide to be a wimp and pull away. Yeah he made a decision, he stuck with it. Good for him. However, it wasn't the best way to go about it. If he could just admit that I would have so much more respect for him. I mean exactly what obeof said was right on. Yeah war could have been correct if we planned it right. Instead we just went tearing through. Not right at all. |
Eminem – Mosh Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I don't know where to begin with this, so let me just say this off the top. Rhcprox or whatever, you are a waste of my, and all of our collective time. If YOU get a free ride to college, I want to know where so I can petition AGAINST it and give it to college students who have an OUNCE of intelligence. You have no free thoughts for yourself, you just ride the coattails of what everyone else says. You made a bunch of BS points towards the middle of this that got COMPLETELY shut down. You were proven wrong by FACT. So you went and hit behind anyone who would somehow side with you in any way. Case in point, opinionhead. You called one of his first posts "the most INTERESTING thing you had heard on this site". Clearly you thought he shared a lot of the same view as you. Your tune quickly changed when he explained that (like me) he did not like Bush or Kerry. You use religion as Bush has to fuel the fire. I am Christian but I am also rational. Anyone who says you can't be Catholic and support a woman's right to choose is totally bull. I AM Catholic and I DO support a woman's right to choose cause of all the good points that have been made about rape and not being able to support a child. I don't feel like spending my life here like you do. However, you need to realize one thing. BUSH FUCKED UP. He needs to understand it before we as a nation can move on. I respect what all of our troops are doing. They signed on for their duty and they are carrying through. Kudos to them, and I support THEM for that. I honestly don't understand how you can support the DECISION to send them there. This is the reason the world hates us. ... Actually I am sorry, the world doesn't hate our people for the most part. They hate our GOVERNMENT. Then again, it is a representation of the people because government is elected for the people, by the people. A lot of people really don't have much of a clue whats going on. An estimated (by cnn.com) 1 quarter of the voting population voted based on moral/religious views. Of course NINETY percent of fthem voted for Bush. Does that not seem odd to anyone? In a society where we must keep such strict separation of church and state, that the state is chosen essentially by the church? The southern states are SO hypocritical. The children aren't allowed to learn the theories of Darwinism and evolution because it conflicts with the Bible. I know not all religious people are irrational. It just seems like everyone who was irrational turned out for the election. Oh well, here's to another four years which I will probably end up being drafted by the end of. Able bodied and 19, see ya guys later. |
8Stops7 – Question Everything Lyrics | 19 years ago |
yeah this song is so powerful, the music, lyrics, his voice, everything. I wish I had known about this band sooner. |
Story of the Year – Swallow The Knife Lyrics | 19 years ago |
I agree to an extent with everyone here. I think that wiping the blood away is akin to fixing the problem whatever it may be. However, I think this song may be a little more simple. I know a lot of people find it easy to read suicide into something like this. But I really think there are a lot of lines that could be construed that way. "so our open wounds will bleed until our veins run dry. now we have to take this thorn and tear it from our side." Maybe the addiction are sealed wounds that he is opening through "Swallowing the Knife", and tearing the thorn for our side is like saying this is the only way to remove it, to remove ourselves. "so lets make this night be our best mistake. so lets take the time to wipe the blood away. " Suicide is a mistake but he sees it as the only way, therefore he feels it is a good choice to make. And wiping the blood away is fixing the addiction or problem. The final thought in my mind that it is about suicide is this. "so we pray for night to start over again. " Maybe he believe 'night' is death. And that in taking his own life, he may be able to start over and do better. Just a thought though. |
DVDA – America, Fuck Yeah! Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Yeah this is one of the funniest songs I have ever heard |
Story of the Year – In The Shadows Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Best song off Page Avenue easy. |
Story of the Year – Page Avenue Lyrics | 19 years ago |
Yeah, Jess same here. Unfortunately this song kinda depresses me. Cause most of my friends have changed so much (even in 3 months). I just don't want to think of them as anything than what they were. I guess I'm all set for "A life full of memories". |
