This song sadly echoes the final few months of freedom that I would have. The sadness over that is, I would soon have to enlist in the Navy. I liked the groups first hit, "Red Rubber Ball" but the reality of the next several months of freedom, would be just that, only memories of a time I would never be able to go back and continue to live. The girl that chewed bubble gum, wore Strawberry lipstick, I would soon kiss one last time. The "Bad to The Bone"1959 Chevy Impala" with the 348 engine and Tri Power and manual 4-speed would be sold. My three best friends would soon see me off to the Navy, as I would only see them a couple of times in the 57 years that have come and gone since. I try today to not follow the lyrics, just hum along, being 78 years old, just about everything is just that to me, just memories.
