This song is a super obvious one to understand if you are one who is familiar with Christs teachings. He's talking about the desire to have a relationship with god through Christ. The entire song is a tribute to the part of us that has to die to ascend spiritually into the 4th dimension and be eternally saved. Those that do not ascend in this life have to go through hell and suffer the equivalent karmic debt to purify our soul until it becomes aligned and ready to integrate into the next phase. (hell is not eternal, eternal fire is in itself symbolic).
He's saying good bye to the part of him that died and embracing the beautiful feeling of gratitude for the birds eye view he now posses as one now awakened. Only those who see the bigger picture and are truly awakened through the teaching of Jesus the coming messiah and lord of lords can understand what he means by the lines "Could it be that it had been there all along" That's the seal of god in the mind which is essential to understanding this feeling. The Seal that 144,000 souls bare. Now the paradox here is that anyone can obtain the seal in the mind by finding it in their heart (even those who are not among the 144,000). But those specific souls (lambs) had it from the start and it was a matter of realizing they always possessed it. So that question is basically was I saved from the start or was this one of the miracles of free will (was I lamb who always possessed the seal) or was this thanks to the influence of others aka a miracle? It's a very good question and yet it makes no difference knowing it or not. If you know you know as you would of asked the big questions from a very early age. If not it is a miracle indeed.Either way it feels like pins and needles this feeling when a part of you that is limp "dead" becomes alive again. This song is about the resurrection where you say good bye to the old self. Not about saying goodbye to friends or anything. But about spiritual death which is the inability to understand through faith and faith alone in Christ that you are you saved eternally (waking limb) followed by the awakening (pins and needles) which inevitably leads to rebirth ( what happens after repentance through prayer of salvation confession). That's why he says it's like pins and needles. He's talking about the period in any who follow Christs where we must repent through deeds to show our complete willingness to follow the commandments and get close to god. (it's like waking up and allowing the sleeping limb to get blood flowing back into it so we can be completely awoken and move again) The song is about the feeling of freedom, completeness, love and blissfulness that comes after the awakening and repentance (prayer of salvation). What follows is the period of redemption (rest of the life) where everything tastes so sweet and even difficult external circumstances that might have threatened to kill you before are now no longer able to harm you (turn a blizzard to a breeze). The she represents the feminine divine in all of us that needs to be united with our masculine energy (heart leading the mind) in order for us to embrace our spirit (voice) that's the symbology of the singing. Realistically many confuse the twin flame thing for this. It's really just symbolic. The masculine requires the feminine to awaken it (kundalini). Once awoken the mind understands and can see the birds eye view. That's when the feminine sings with joy. For the spirit is balanced with the power (the heart now with the mind). The power to prevent any from leading you astray. For you have the seal in your MIND. And that is why you want to be close to god. You may have felt him but now you want to KNOW him for your mind is now enlightened by the limitless love from your heart. This whole idea of you are the one that completes me is symbolic for the masculine divine being the key to our own completeness. Not for someone who completes your soul. This idea of soul splitting to be reunited resulted from a failure to understand the symbology of the twin flame which is kundalini. God created us complete without anyone else. Although soul mates also are a thing like in the notebook. But that is a karmic debt not a soul splitting. Anyway hope you enjoyed the analysis if any other line is unclear you can comment below and I'll reply <3
@TheProfitSong rainsong244 agreed! I would probably also want to include the diagnosis of Narcissist, due to the fact that not only did he NOT reference any of the specific lyrics (other than what's in the chorus) as the previous and more highly ranked interpretation did, but he also needed to tell THAT guy to look at HIS, right? Lol.
WHY do the religious zealots feel the need to turn everything into an f-ing catechism advertisement for their invisible friend? DOES ProfitSong know the band incubus personally, and therefore have some special clues for insight into the motivation behind the...

I HIGHLY doubt it.
