Cover art for I've Been Let Down lyrics by Mazzy Star

Melancholy but transcendent - one of the beautiful gems from this album and this period in Mazzy Star's music. I'm astonished how few comments there have been for this song. It's one of the most transparently honest lyrics from Hope and David. Roback passed away this year but his and Hope's gifts should be cherished in an era when shoegaze and dreampop have seen a resurgence.

Hope's voice is amazing here "catch a train on a silver afternoon...takes me there when I should be going home" The way she breathes thru the last note "and I'm stilll coming round with you." is haunting.

Memory

@Cutecarton yeah, halah has that same kinda vibe. maudlin/melencholy, somewhat fatalistic i guess
