Beautiful song, written by Skip Spence but recorded after he was out of the band, late autumn 1966, during the 'Surrealistic Pillow' sessions. Sums up Haight Ashbury, 1966, before the 'summer of love' hype of '67 destroyed the scene. Love, peace, good music, and good vibes with no snark or irony or cynicism connected with those terms. Not included for some reason in original release of 'Surrealistic Pillow' and not released until the later JA anthology 'Early Flight' in '73 or '74, by which time it was already a nostalgia piece. EF version has Grace Slick's vocals more prominent, equal with Marty Balin's. CD issues of 'Surrealistic Pillow' starting in the '80s or '90s have a different mix with Grace's vocal pushed to the background rather than of equal tone and volume with Marty's.
