This song is a tribute both to O’Donoghue’s father, who died unexpectedly on February 14th 2008 ("Valentine's Day"), of a stomach aneurysm, and his bandmate and long-time friend Mark Sheehan’s mother, who died the same year, and father who died when he was 12. He wonders what his father must be thinking of what he has achieved thus far in his life, from up in heaven, hoping that he is proud of his son. In general, a beautiful and touching song, my favourite track from their new album, #3. I was moved to tears upon first hearing this song :')
