Lyric discussion by SmithsGuy

Cover art for You'll Be In My Heart lyrics by Phil Collins

When listening to this song while thinking about gay rights, this can have a drastically different interpretation...

The lyrics that really drive this are, "Why can't they understand / The way we feel / They just don't trust / What they can't explain / I know we're different but, / Deep inside us / We're not that different at all" and "Don't listen to them / 'Cause what do they know / We need each other / To have, to hold / They'll see in time / I know..."

I know that's absolutely not the meaning of the song, and rather it's a song made specifically to describe the relationship between a mother gorilla and her human son... But yeah, that's always the feeling I got when listening to this song... ;)

And I see it was just mentioned in the comment before me... Exact words... :P
