This song sounds like he is thinking about commiting suicide to me. I would say the lyrics indicate that he hates his life and is depressed. He realizes he is in one of his depressed moods again and he thinks about killing himself but never does. He doesn't becuase he knows its a passing phase and he will feel better. My evidence for this is teh mention of razerblade when talking about being depressed. Getting old/love fading are causes for depression. Nothing is fun. He then decides to have a little fun and scares the girl by asking her to get his favorite axe(the guitar). Which someone might interpret as this guy is a serial killer why would he have a favorite axe(the weapon).
He lists things that they can do but with sarcasm because they all dont interest him. The last one "Silent highway" one involves staring at a window which is where he transitions to saying to the groupie would you like to see me jump. He is considering jumping out the window to his death. IMO he thinks maybe that will entertain him and if not it will end his misery.
Thats what I think the song is talking about but it maintains a crazy aspect to it because thats how he is dealing with depression and boredom by being crazy and spontanious and purposely scaring the groupie away as he is no longer interested in her.
@Truffinator I think he is depressed and doesn’t want to carry on his life. But I think scaring the groupie is unintentional and is just because he is slipping into insanity, and he can feel the madness coming on, I’m bipolar and can feel when thing are slipping and it can be scary for people that don’t understand the disorder, the change can be very quick and severe, ask my ex wife!!!
