I'm not sure but I don't think the song is actually about physical movement. Despite the title being kinetic I think this is hypothetical movement. He is referring to someone who got lazy at the beginning of the song...they are being "taken for a ride" because they "fell asleep at the wheel", which is "plain old lazy", in other words the person got lazy and someone began controlling what they did. He is asking them to keep moving...wake up...drive their own destiny. He found himself waiting for them to "wake up", indicating that they were separated- hypothetically or physically...and also implying that he himself succumbed to this laziness. At the end he repeats the chorus twice "please keep moving..." to both persons involved, reminding himself not to let that person drive his path and pleading to that person to wake up and drive for themselves to meet him.
