In my opinion this song could be about him seeing himself almost as if from one personality where the side that is always depressed is slowly having influence over the happy side and slowly turning him into one person but as sick as it makes him that he ends up this way it will happen anyway and always will hence the idea of going in circles each time he thinks he will be happy the depressed side will come back around and burn into him that it will not last.
