I actually didn't give much thought to the lyrics of the song, but the general voice made me think of it as being about a person looking back with that mixture of happiness and melancholy over the things he/she has done in the past. It's sort of like when you're looking at yourself back in high school now being much older and thinking about the really insane sort of emotions and things you did during that time that were both destructive in a way and yet they were so pivotal to who you are now. So you think back about those times in your life and it all comes together in this sort of far off rush and you feel both wise and distant from it, but also sort of at that moment.
It's perhaps a bit of a stretch, but I definitely get a sort of mixed-emotions feeling from the song. And not mixed in terms of "I don't know how to feel". More mixed like, "I'm seeing it all at the same time".
