I could be completely off but I think it's about co dependence in a relationship, they can't stand each other and want to get away but they can't keep away from each other because being with someone you can't stand feels better than being alone. It felt like a relationship I had in the past, I knew he was bad news for me but I didn't want to be alone, I would rather be miserable than alone, thankfully I am not in that relationship or like that anymore.
