I suppose this song to be about someone returning to their hometown after a long time of being away. now he feels that things have changed during the time of his absence, his friends have become more mature and in fact, he missed these developments in his own personality for some reason, and now he feels that the connection they used to have kind of faded away because of the increasing differences in their characters and personalities.
