I really like the lyrics to this song, especially the first verse. It's easy to relate to. A lot of times when you are first in love with someone, you wonder if it's too soon, and you hold back from saying the words. Still, in your mind, you keep thinking "I love you" every time you see the person or they say something that pleases you. I think the song also conveys how people tend to reject advances from those who are a little smarter than average and as a result don't fit in. After all, if a jock were singing out an "I love you", I doubt too many girls would say no to that. I don't think this is necessarily a stalkeresque song (to hear a true stalker song, listen to "Hello I Love You" or "Crash Into Me").

Interesting side: The chorus of this song is played on the latest Pontiac Solstice commercial. When I first heard it, I thought it must be a 70's song. The vocals are actually deep and kind of seductive.
