Its about people that are only straight edge because its the cool thing to do or just because all there friends are doing it, but they become so obsessed with it it basically becomes like a drug. In the end when Marc says "this is my choice i made it i live by it my life is my own" hes saying hes chosen himself to be straightedge and hes gonna stay that way no matter what, and in the next line when he says are you in control hes talking about the people that do it cause of there friends asking are they in control of there lives
