I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

s the song that made me fall inlove with anathema..its always pushing me forward,so that no matter how much i find this piece of shit life too fucking hard to live,i listen to this song and calms me down... it has this great deal of energy,giving you the idea that there is someone,anyone that cares about you and that person is worth live for...no matter what happens in your own life...Correct title is Barriers. I think it's along the same line as Floyd's the wall. Meaning a barrier between himself and others (talking to you from the other side of a wall in my mind), sort of an anxiety thing (the fear overcame me) and his struggle to overcome it (I just can't lay down and die). That's the impression I get anyway.
