These are the days
These are days you'll remember.
Never before and never since,
I promise, will the whole world be warm as this.
And as you feel it, you'll know it's true that you are blessed and lucky.
It's true that you are touched by something that will grow and bloom in you.

These are days you'll remember.
When May is rushing over you with desire to be part of the miracles you see in every hour. You'll know it's true that you are blessed and lucky.
It's true that you are touched by something that will grow and bloom in you.

These are days.
These are the days you might fill with laughter until you break.
These days you might feel a shaft of light make its way across your face.
And when you do you'll know how it was meant to be.
See the signs and know their meaning.
It's true, you'll know how it was meant to be.
Hear the signs and know they're speaking to you, to you.

This is the fruit of all the meaning of life. Somethilng 'will grow inside you' -highschoolers beware...she's talking about being pregnant. For it's beauty and life. The end.

To me this song makes me think of high school and all the good times that you have with your friends. You don't realize it, but these days don't last and you have to enjoy them before it's too late.

"These Are Days" is about living in the moment, no matter where you are. Unless you're doing that, you won't see the signs and know their meaning. That will only come when you can separate yourself from your worries of the future or lamentations of the past.

The first 10,000 Maniacs song I ever heard...and loved it immediately. It's about loving and appreciating life and all its glory, and how every day is a miracle if you let it be and can see life that way. One of the many great songs written by 10,000 Maniacs.

Beatiful song. Left open to interpretation. It explains itself. These are the days of your life. Love them and cherish them. Live for today and try to achieve understanding and happiness, because this is your only chance.

I always thought of this song as pentacostal in it's message, but that fits more to what it meant to me when I first heard it, not Natalie. Aside from the obvious lyrics that tie to this subject, May is right after April (Easter) which on a timeline would be the time of Pentacost. I could see other responses meeting the true intent from Natalie Merchant's pespective. She may well be a Christian though.

This song is actually called "These are Days", not "These are the Days".

Standing On The Edge Of Summer

In regards to the meaning of this song: Before a live performance on the EP Five Stories Falling, Geoff states “It’s about the last time I went to visit my grandmother in Columbus, and I saw that she was dying and it was the last time I was going to see her. It is about realizing how young you are, but how quickly you can go.” That’s the thing about Geoff and his sublime poetry, you think it’s about one thing, but really it’s about something entirely different. But the lyrics are still universal and omnipresent, ubiquitous, even. So relatable. That’s one thing I love about this band. I also love their live performances, raw energy and Geoff’s beautiful, imperfectly perfect vocals. His voice soothes my aching soul.

Cajun Girl

Overall about difficult moments of disappointment and vulnerability. Having hope and longing, while remaining optimistic for the future. Encourages the belief that with each new morning there is a chance for things to improve. The chorus offers a glimmer of optimism and a chance at a resolution and redemption in the future. Captures the rollercoaster of emotions of feeling lost while loving someone who is not there for you, feeling let down and abandoned while waiting for a lover. Lost with no direction, "Now I'm up in the air with the rain in my hair, Nowhere to go, I can go anywhere" The bridge shows signs of longing and a plea for companionship. The Lyrics express a desire for authentic connection and the importance of Loving someone just as they are. "Just in passing, I'm not asking. That you be anyone but you”

How would you describe the feeling of being in love? For Ed Sheeran, the word is “Magical.” in HIS three-minute album opener, he makes an attempt to capture the beauty and delicacy of true love with words. He describes the magic of it all over a bright Pop song produced by Aaron Dessner.

Blue
Ed Sheeran
“Blue” is a song about a love that is persisting in the discomfort of the person experiencing the emotion. Ed Sheeran reflects on love lost, and although he wishes his former partner find happiness, he cannot but admit his feelings are still very much there. He expresses the realization that he might never find another on this stringed instrumental by Aaron Dessner.

Page
Ed Sheeran
There aren’t many things that’ll hurt more than giving love a chance against your better judgement only to have your heart crushed yet again. Ed Sheeran tells such a story on “Page.” On this track, he is devastated to have lost his lover and even more saddened by the feeling that he may never move on from this.
