This is for my sisters that were raped and smacked
This is for my brothers that were stoned to death

For years now the coloured man has undergone oppression
Just because his is not the same as your reflection
Yeah, you think it's written to bring us all pain
Well where does it say to bring the Holocaust again?
I feel disgusted by your bloody lies
Any excuse to kill a bunch of black guys
You're too engrossed in anger yet you don't realise
(CHORUS)
THAT OUR HEARTS ARE THE SAME
AND WE BLEED THE SAME COLOUR!!!

We hide beneath the shadows avoiding persecution
Our women and children all fear the execution
We go to the law and ask for assistance
(Huh!) They just increase the damn resistance fool
The Ku-Klux Clan all runnin' from the FEDs
'Cos they slaughtered every Black and put bullets in their heads
So who do we turn to other than these frauds?
I'll tell ya- one person and his name is God!!!
(CHORUS)

Why? I'm asking,
'Why make us shudder?'
'Why should we lock our doors and close all the shutters?'
'Why don't you treat us like your sisters and your brothers?
'COS OUR HEARTS ARE THE SAME
AND WE BLEED THE SAME COLOUR!!!'
(CHORUS)

WHY DON'T YOU TREAT US LIKE YOUR SISTERS AND YOUR BROTHERS, 'COS OUR HEARTS ARE THE SAME…OUR HEARTS ARE THE SAME…OUR HEARTS ARE THE SAME…OUR HEARTS ARE THE SAME AND WE BLEED THE SAME COLOUR!!!
JUST BRING IT!!!

[Dedicated by Fine Apple to Mumia Abu-Jamal and the memory of Stephen Lawrence]

Au contrair my little angry friend LKM, i have seen fineapple twice now, and enjoyed both gigs so much that i would have been to at least 3 more that i missed, and am also planning to go to another. And i'm not in the band because i'm a girl, and the band contains 4 guys and one guy that looks a bit like a lady if you look at him from a distance

Zombie
Cranberries, The
"Zombie" is about the ethno-political conflict in Ireland. This is obvious if you know anything of the singer (Dolores O'Riordan)'s Irish heritage and understood the "1916" Easter Rising reference. "Another head hangs lowly Child is slowly taken And the violence caused such silence Who are we mistaken - Another mother's breaking Heart is taking over" Laments the Warrington bomb attacks in which two children were fatally injured on March 23rd, 1993. Twelve year old Tim Parry was taken off life support with permission from his mother after five days in the hospital, virtually braindead. "But you see it's not me It's not my family" References how people who are not directly involved with the violence feel about it. They are "zombies" without sympathy who refuse to take action while others suffer.

Blank Space
Taylor Swift
This song is Swift's response to the negative reputation the media has given her. "I can make the bad guys good for a weekend" - the bad guys are the paparazzi to Swift, but are good to the "player" since association with Swift immediately gives publicity. Any publicity is good publicity and Swift knows this. "You can tell me when it's over" - the tabloids rumor relationships are over before the couple announces it officially. With this song Swift is portraying the way she is portrayed by the media. It is a sarcastic jab at how she views herself and how her "ex-lovers" only wanted to be with her to increase their fame. I applaud the brilliance in writing about how you always write about relationships. It is expected so Swift is giving the media what they want and profiting off the attention.
