I Don't Want Control of You Lyrics

I don't want control of you
Doesn't matter to me
The very heart and soul of you
Are places I wanna see

Everyday I look in a different face
Feelings getting stronger with every embrace

I don't want a world of pain
Staring at every tear
Don't want this love to stay the same
Growing with every year

Everyday I look in a different face
Feelings getting stronger with every embrace

Tired of situations
That mean nothing to me
You've been an inspirational figure for me

Everyday I look in a different face
Feelings getting stronger with every embrace

I don't want control of you
Doesn't matter to me
I want this love to stay the same
Growing with every year

Everyday I look in a different face
Feelings getting stronger with every embrace

this song is pretty straightforward so i don't think it's necessary to comment on the lyrics. but i do think it's necessary to comment on how no one has commented on any teenage fanclub songs. that's outrageous. you all suck.

Just as well. The day the Fannies get mega-famous, maybe they won't be as cherished and appreciated us as lucky few.

This song is actually about Normans daughter Rowan..

Crackin' tune.

Some corrections on the lyrics:

I don't want a world of pain DESPAIR in every tear

The line is always:

DON'T want this love to stay the same GROW with every year

Teenage Fanclub's most beautiful song. It describes the way I feel about my relationships with people, particularly with significant others.

The meaning of this song is so obvious...except it isn't. When Norman Blake wrote it, he said it was about his then-wife. But these days when he plays it in concerts he says it's about his daughter, who was born around the time of the song. So apparently all of us were wrong then--or Norman's wisely decided to honor someone who's still in his life.
